What does the in kennel training consist of?
Durham Kennels’s Board and Train Program is designed for pet owners with busy schedules and those who need the guidance, help and expertise of an experienced trainer. If you choose this option, your dog will stay at the kennel for three weeks. Basic obedience is on leash, on collar training and consists of the following commands: come, sit, down, stay, heel and variations of all of these. Jim will work with your dog several times a day using a method of training that utilizes firmness, repetition, consistency, positive reinforcement, and lots of love. Upon completion of the initial in-kennel training, you will pick your dog up and have the first of six private classes. All family members ages 14 and up are invited and welcomed to attend. A critically important part of your dog’s training, these sessions are designed to teach you how to handle your dog and to ensure that you understand and can properly execute all of the basic obedience commands.

Why does my 10 week old shihtzu go out side and does nothing bring him back in and immediately he potties
This is very common. I recommend crate training as the best option for house-breaking. Give me a call and I will be happy to give you some pointers on how to handle this behavior.

When I brought my dog to him I was distraught because I was unable to teach my dog to stop yanking me around when I took him for a walk. This was particularly problematic because I was recovering from surgery. This is no longer the case! He hasn’t yanked me since I picked up my dog! Jim, the dog whisperer, taught him everything we needed like heel, come, stay, and loose leash walking, among others. I am so pleased I wish I could rate him a 10! He’s thoroughly professional and a truly gifted trainer. Walking my dog is now a joy.

Trustworthy, sincere, extremely knowledgeable and KIND.Other trainers I contacted tried to sell me services for $1695.00 or their cheaper option of $795and kept me On the phone for 45 min. After 1 min., this man listened to my need and told me to simply put my small dog in the carrier with some treats regularly and eventually she would like it. He said, "You don't need me. You can do it." Talk about REFRESHING, AND HE WAS RIGHT. COST=ZERO TIME =1 minute. Please use this service. He is someone I completely TRUST with my fur baby.
