FirstBarkWe took our miniature schnauzer, Josie, to Durham’s Kennels for training, and Jim did an amazing job with her. She came home a completely different girl—she listens better, she’s calmer, and she no longer has accidents in the house. We can even leave her out of her crate all day with no worries. I highly recommend investing in Durham’s Kennels if you’re having issues with your puppy.

What does the in kennel training consist of?
Durham Kennels’s Board and Train Program is designed for pet owners with busy schedules and those who need the guidance, help and expertise of an experienced trainer. If you choose this option, your dog will stay at the kennel for three weeks. Basic obedience is on leash, on collar training and consists of the following commands: come, sit, down, stay, heel and variations of all of these. Jim will work with your dog several times a day using a method of training that utilizes firmness, repetition, consistency, positive reinforcement, and lots of love. Upon completion of the initial in-kennel training, you will pick your dog up and have the first of six private classes. All family members ages 14 and up are invited and welcomed to attend. A critically important part of your dog’s training, these sessions are designed to teach you how to handle your dog and to ensure that you understand and can properly execute all of the basic obedience commands.

Why does my 10 week old shihtzu go out side and does nothing bring him back in and immediately he potties
This is very common. I recommend crate training as the best option for house-breaking. Give me a call and I will be happy to give you some pointers on how to handle this behavior.

I boarded my dog with Mr Durham for a week and I am so happy I chose his kennel. Jim showed so much compassion to my very nervous dog who had never been boarded before. He is truly an animal lover. His kennels are immaculately clean. I would choose Durham Kennels again and recommend him to my family.
Durham Kennels is the most professionally and caring training/boarding facility for dogs. The kennels are emaculant and the atmosphere is perfect for training and boarding your dog(s). With many years of experience, Mr. Durham is a very knowledgeable about dog behavior and obedience training. He is so kind and did an outstanding job with obedience training our German Shepherd.
My puppy was extremely happy when we picked him up. Jim Durham is thorough and kind. He said he loved our pup and is welcome anytime!
Jim is wonderful to work with. The kennel is air conditioned and the kennels are spacious and have an indoor and outdoor section. He was so sweet to our dog and was wonderful to my family. We called to check on Paige and he called us back quickly. We already have another boarding date scheduled!
