Doglingual is a woman led, Latina, queer & veteran owned dog training and dog trekking company in the Portland metro area. Our goal is to provide balanced lifestyle dog training to the modern pet parent through hands on real world exposure, with a focus on but not limited to outdoor adventures (Hiking, swimming, brewery patio skills, etc.) enjoying public spaces, and enjoying your own home.
We offer customized training plans with Private Lessons or Board & Trains for all ages; including small puppies and senior dogs.
Trekking paws is an all day off leash adventure up on a trail in the mountains (long lines and e collars are welcome)
If you’re going out of town we also offer basic in home (our home) boarding.

We chose Dog lingual based on a family recommendation and her first interaction with our german shepherd. Our dog loved her right away, before she gave her any treats. After talking and listening to her explain her plan and approach we decided on a board and train. The regular updates were great. She was always responsive to questions and comments. She took our shy, stubborn girl and transformed her into a more confident and manageable dog. Even after the training ended, Tamara has answered any questions we have. I would highly recommend Dog Lingual to anyone looking for a trainer.
My dog used to pull like a freight train, picture is of her the day after coming back, barely have to hold her leash now.

I worked one on one with Tamara and her dogs! Tamara is incredible knowledgeable and handled my anxious and reactive dog with ease. She meets you a your dogs where they are at and so willing to try different training methods to find out what’s going to work best for your dog. I am starting to do e-collar training with her and I couldn’t be more satisfied!

Choosing to train with Doglingual was one of the best choices I’ve made in my puppy parenting journey. I could talk for a long time about all the ways they’ve helped train my puppy, but I think the most important thing has really been how much Doglingual has helped train ME! Our relationships with our dogs aren’t one-sided and working with Tamara has given me the education and confidence to become the handler my dog needs me to be. Every time I interact with Tamara I feel better about myself and my ability to communicate with my dog and keep her safe out in the world. Tamara really understands the challenges I face in the world with my puppy and gives me the tools and support to meet the challenges and grow through them with my sweet little (ok giant) slobbery baby. I couldn’t be happier with Doglingual and I recommend them to everyone, whether or not your dog is experiencing any behavioral issues.

Tamara and her crew are awesome! We needed help with loose leash walking and found her helpful, friendly and compassionate! Our dogs are doing great with their new system of walking and we are hiring Doglingual back for more help with calm guest greeting and off leash recall.
