Divine K-9

We absolutely loved the training we got (virtual and in-person)! Our dog was reactive to squirrels and bunnies. She would bark, lunge, and whimper at them. As new dog owners, we were overwhelmed with her reactivity and we didn't know dog behavior well enough to feel confident when training. But after learning some tricks at Divine K-9 we were able to get our dog to quietly sit when confronted with squirrels and bunnies. She's not perfect, but we've seen a huge improvement. In addition, we worked on recall, dog-on-dog behavior, and heeling (and a myriad of other things). All of which have improved greatly! We can recall our dog in the middle of her chasing a ball and she stays by our side when we really need her to. The training we got gave us so much confidence with our dog. I used to stress about any hiccup or uncouth behavior from my dog, but now I understand where she is coming from and I know how to address our dog's needs. We were also able to reach out anytime with questions (completely free) which was super useful! We were able to show videos of our training progress and get feedback about best practices. We are so glad we found Divine K-9 to help us learn how to be good dog parents to our adopted puppy. Jorge's approach to training is straighforward and builds long-term skills for owner and pup. He took the time to explain the why and how behind each skill and was patient as we learned along with our dog. In short: Working with Jorge is one of the best investments you can make for a happy lifetime for you and your dog! We adopted a puppy that developed early signs of resource guarding. Realizing that this behavior can create big problems around other dogs and people, I asked around and was put in touch with Jorge. He helped us right away over the phone, with strategies we could start using right away, and then we have followed followed up with a series of training sessions addressing the resource guarding (quickly resolved!), how to interpret other dog behaviors at the dog park (so valuable...as we'd had bad experiences with our previous dog being attacked at a dog park), and things we continue to work on, like loose leash walking and jumping on people. Jorge loves and understands dogs, and has a deep repertoire of training strategies to share, whatever your needs. Jorge is also a truly nice person who's fun to be around, so you'll have a good time, too!
