She was patient, reassuring, and also helped us hold a firm line while maintaining high expectations for our puppy. We started working with her when our 6-month-old puppy was stubborn, reactive, energetic, and often ignored our commands. Now, our lab, is responsive, can rest, and is focused on us every step of the way. She walks like a pro on leash and has stopped behaviors like pulling, counter surfing, jumping on the couch, and picking everything up off the ground. Alena was also incredibly responsive and frequently checked in outside of our sessions, making us feel like we were her only client. That level of care and attention made a huge difference in our progress and confidence as dog owners. We can’t recommend them enough - it’s so worth the investment. We are excited to remain part of their community - attending adventure clubs and using their boarding services in the future. Thank you, Dean’s List & Alena!

We had a wonderful experience with the Deans List and specifically our trainer Rachel! We have a GSP puppy named Goose, who we wanted to take on adventures as well as have household manners and with our busy schedules we opted for the 4 week board and train. From Day 1, Rachel has been extremely knowledgeable and communicative throughout the entire journey. She kept us informed not only with text but sent super cute update pictures (which I have added!) and you can tell the passion she has for this job! Since Goose has been home, he has been noticeably better! Some of our problem areas before were counter surfing, running out the door, car rides, and leash walking, just to name a few. Goose’s personality is very GO GO GO SQUIRREL, nosey (he is truly the most nosey dog), and stubborn but since his training Goose doesn’t jump on counters or run out the door. He stays in a down in the car with very little corrections and doesn’t pull you on the leash, and honestly that is just some of the examples I have and not even Goose’s complete arsenal of knowledge he has learned! I am so happy that we did this for Goose and I would 100% recommend the Deans List to anyone interested in dog training!

I cannot say enough good things about our training experience with Emily aka The Crazy Treat Lady. We chose the puppy hybred program because we wanted to be able to take Ember on adventures and not worry about her "manners" around other people and dogs. We wanted a well rounded dog and that is exactly what we have. Emily began home sessions with Ember when she was about 5 months old. She "trained" us as much as Ember. She gave clear, straightforward training instructions that were easy to follow. When my husband challenged her on the reasoning behind her methods, she was able to answer his questions with no hesitation. Even our 13 year old dalmatian/lab mix picked up a new trick or two. After we completed the home sessions, Ember went to stay with Emily for three weeks. Emily takes videos of the training and posts them online so you can see how your baby is doing. It is comforting to see them in action while they are away. The puppy that came home to us was well behaved and trained. It says a lot when you considered your dog trainer family and your dog gets super excited just hearing their voice on videos. You will not go wrong with Dean's List K9 Training. We love Emily.

I’ve rewritten this review in my head so many times, trying to find the right words to truly express how grateful I am for Savannah and Dean’s List K9 Training—and honestly, it still doesn’t feel like enough. I was referred by another happy client, and after my initial consultation call with Savannah, I just knew in my heart this was the right place for us. From the very beginning, Savannah really listened—to me, to my goals, and to what I wanted for my dog, Buxton. When he started, he was a six-month-old, rambunctious Goldendoodle with big doodle energy! My goal was simple: I wanted to be able to take him out into the world—stores, breweries, parks—and actually enjoy those moments together. Before training, I tried, but it was honestly stressful. Buxton loved every second, but I was always on edge, anticipating his next move or worrying about how he’d react around others. Savannah completely changed that for us. And while I jokingly say she worked magic, the truth is she’s incredibly skilled and dedicated at what she does. Buxton has transformed into a dog who can confidently handle those same environments, even with lots of distractions. It’s been amazing to watch, and while he’s still a work in progress, the growth he’s made is something I’m incredibly grateful for. What means even more is that the support didn’t stop JUST because he graduated. Savannah has met with me on several occasions, helping Buxton and I work through challenges. Training also includes work from the owners—we have to hold them accountable to achieve the results we want. Her guidance, encouragement, and honest feedback have made all the difference in helping Bux and I succeed! Buxton has also participated in Adventure Club—10/10 highly recommend! It’s always something new, fun, and engaging, giving dogs a chance to practice their skills in real-world settings while having a great time. I’ve had the chance to work with all of the trainers at Dean’s List in some capacity, and I can say without hesitation that I would trust every one of them with my dog. That level of confidence and peace of mind is truly priceless. Recently, as the weather has warmed up, I’ve started taking Buxton out more—and there was a moment where I almost cried because I realized we were finally living the vision I had always hoped for.
