CMC Dog Training

My wife Bonnie had her first experience in the world of dog training at CMC Dog Training in Flower Mound this year. We were fortunate to find the best, most caring and talented trainers that we could have imagined. They truly care for all of the dogs and train them very carefully. We left Sir Percival with them for 3 weeks. He was a very hyper dog and difficult to control. After 3 weeks his behavior substantially improved and he learned to follow all of his oral commands. We have taken him back twice for boarding and he was well taken care of both times. Also, Glenna and her associates gave the dog a refresher course in his training while he is being boarded. We strongly recommend Glenna and CMC Dog Training. They operate their business with tremendous integrity and honesty and they truly value their customers, but most of all they value the fur kids.

I brought my dog Trixie to CMC for their 20 day obedience training program. She is one year old and I realized I was having difficulty helping her to fit well into our household of another older dog and a cat. She was totally out of control and as the doggy parent, I knew it was *my* responsibility to step up and take charge, but had no idea how to do so. The team at CMC gave us BOTH the tools we needed for me to communicate what I need from her, build the structure and trust she wants and needs, and guide her to better fit within the unique contours of our little “pack”. The advantage of the intensive 20 day training was that it completely cemented the basics we needed to use, and our job after that was to reinforce and build on that at home. I won’t say it’s been magically easy… dogs (like kids) will constantly test you… she absolutely KNOWS what to do, but the challenge of getting her to do so varies from day to day, but she gets better and better over time because we are both diligent, applying what we learned at CMC. The last thing I’d pass along is how clear it is that Glenna and her team deeply care for not only the dogs in their care, but for the dog parent, and for the health and strength of the relationship between them. If Glenna said it once she said it a hundred times: “if you EVER have a question or problem, you pick up the phone and call us… you’re part of the CMC family now”. I believe it and am grateful for it, and for CMC Dog training.

I highly recommend Glenna and Amy at CMC Dog Training. My wife and I stopped by the facility prior to deciding to send our two year old Golden Retriever to be trained. We had a bad experience with sending our last Golden to a board and train so I was very apprehensive, but I had reached the end of my training capability. After talking to Glenna and Amy for an hour I was confident this was the right place. Loose leash walking was the biggest issue we were dealing with and after three weeks we can now go on calm, enjoyable walks. He is more relaxed now that he doesn't have to make the decisions and he is overall happier. I can't recommend them enough. They were honest and they really do love the dogs they work with.
