Chucktown Charley

I have had and continue to have such a wonderful experience with Chucktown Charley and Well Mannered Dog. As a first time dog owner, I needed all the help I could get, especially since picking up my puppy Sophie, right before the pandemic began. I am so thankful for the entire team at Chucktown Charley and Well Mannered Dog and how they have worked with me from the start! At this point, we have been training for several months and participated in Puppy Basecamp, Climb Higher, and the Freedom Program. I have seen a huge difference in Sophie's confidence and I am so proud of the progress she has made with Chucktown Charley's help. Sophie adores going to "school" and seeing all the wonderful trainers. I love that the approach to training is rewarding the positive behaviors and not punishment. I cannot say enough good things about Chucktown Charley!

Well, once again the team at Chucktown Charley’s has done a fabulous job! Sophie is our second dog who was trained by the experts at Chucktown. They did so well training Lucy that we just had to sign up Sophie! We signed Sophie up for Chucktown’s Puppy Explorer 4 week class. In these sessions the trainers taught her to stay, come here, sit, climb, heel, proper socializing with other dogs, crate conditioning, sensory, food and mental enrichment activities to stimulate and challenge Sophie. We loved receiving weekly email progress reports along with videos and pictures of Sophie’s training sessions. In addition, the Zoom video conferences provided us guidance on how to continue training Sophie and were awesome. Locating a company who uses a positive training approach was our number one priority when looking for a program. We wanted a safe place with no yelling of commands, spanking or choke collars. Chucktown’s reward and motivation based training program utilizing methods such as praise, a rub, a ball, toy or a treat was exactly the style of training we wanted for our puppy! Not only did they train our puppy, they trained us to better understand our dog and observe her body language, reactions and know what motivates Sophie. The folks at Chucktown are knowledgeable, committed, fun and always friendly! We just say “Chucktown Charley’s” to Lucy or Sophie and they light up with excitement! In fact, we also now send both to their Premier Playcare so Lucy and Sophie can continue to have enrichment and socialization activities. Thank you so much to the entire team at Chucktown Charley’s!!
