Canine University is truly exceptional. Caro is an absolute genius at positive, evidence-based methods for dog training. She is truly passionate about improving the bonds between humans and dogs. Both you and your dog will be much happier if you take classes at Canine University. Half of the classes are a drop-off format, where you leave your dog in Caro's capable hands and go off and walk around Cheesman Park for 20 minutes. The other half are hands-on classes where Caro will train you to handle your dog, so you aren't accidentally rewarding the wrong behavior or sending confusing messages to your pup. After each class, you can ask questions about what you learned or any other issues you and your dog have been experiencing. I adopted an adult border collie mix from Dumb Friends League and really struggled to train her. Ramuh is adorable, but was very stubborn, scared of almost everything she encountered, and extremely difficult to walk or train. Luckily, Caro has a complete understanding of dog psychology and has shown me so many different ways to communicate with Ramuh. I also love that classes are held at the park. Ramuh had to deal with squirrels and other dogs and all sorts of distractions, but she learned to ignore them and focus on class. Ultimately, her newfound ability to focus makes walking her so much easier! Instead of trying to murder every squirrel she sees, she looks at them for a few seconds then moves on. I am so glad that I took Ramuh to classes here. Our relationship is much stronger because I'm learning to read her body language and understand how to help her when she starts freaking out. I so deeply appreciate Caro's teaching style and warm attitude towards puppies and people.

Caro is AMAZING! I would highly recommend Canine University to all dog owners. We worked with a different trainer when we first got Murphy at 8 weeks old and found that there wasn’t enough consistency, we were getting mixed messages, and we truly didn’t know what to do. This all changed when we found Caro. She is kind, patient, professional, and respectful of both the humans and dogs she works with. Murphy is too smart for his own good and this often results in him being very stubborn. Caro has been so patient with Murphy and with me as she teaches us how to effectively communicate. The differences we have seen since we began obedience training at Canine University are huge! We finished up Basic Obedience and loved it so much that we are now starting Intermediate Obedience. We look forward to going each week as the experience is fun and fulfilling thanks to Caro!

The puppy school was fantastic. Caro treated the puppy and us with patience and respect throughout the entire process. I've raised and trained many puppies myself and still learned a great deal from the courses. We were left with a fantastic knowledge of the psychology of our dog and in turn are well armed to help introduce her to all new things she will discover in the world. Also the training exercises were simple to perform, and have already yielded great dividends while teaching our puppy at home. I would highly recommend the puppy courses for anyone with a new dog. Regardless if you have plenty of experience training dogs, or none at all, this course is extremely beneficial either way. It was a great time all around, and we will be signing up for the obedience courses as well. 5/5 stars, fantastic all around.

We’ve had dogs before, but when we got Lucy, we knew we were in for a wild ride. Lucy is a standard Golden Doodle, smart as a whip and a real firecracker. As our darling rambunctious puppy grew into a large, strong and strong-willed dog, we knew we needed some help! As sweet as she was when alone with us, Lucy turned into a she-devil dog when she met up with other people and other dogs. And worst of all, she pretty much ignored our attempts to calm her down. Walking her was especially difficult….It was starting to feel like we might not be able to make this relationship work! One day, while walking (struggling with) Lucy in Cheesman Park, we saw Caro Sacco, leading a Canine University obedience class. Those dogs were actually listening to their pawrents! And everyone, dogs and humans, looked happy! We contacted Caro right away and signed up for Level 1 obedience classes. Caro taught us all we needed to know to become great pawparents. She taught us to use positive reinforcement and respectful communication to help Lucy learn to be her best. Caro’s vast knowledge and supreme instincts (about dogs and people) have helped us create a wonderful relationship with our Lucy. We are now confident that Lucy will “come”, “stay” and be a perfectly polite dog when others come around. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Caro to anyone who is ready to have a super dog!
