I have a young rescue dog which had gotten protective and aggressive towards other dogs. I took him to Blackwater with the intention of doing private lessons. After seeing his almost immediate response to Alex I realized I needed more help than the private lessons would give. I have just gotten him back after completing the 6 week training program and am very pleased with the results. Alex is a great trainer and the follow up support they give is great. Definitely recommend

I highly recommend Blackwater K-9 for all your dog training needs. When I thought all hope was lost for my Belgian Malinois to work in Personal Protection because of being told by several other trainers that she just wasn’t into the game, I was invited by one of their current clients to give them a try during one of their sessions. Well…let me just tell you this..Alex is AMAZING! My dog had been worked by 4 other professional decoys for close to a year and none of them could get her to really engage. The first session, Alex and the help of Pedro coaching me as Alex worked his magic my dog was engaging way more that she had in almost a year. Now in 3 sessions my dog is lit up and fully engaging and having fun! I am extremely grateful to Alex for recognizing that my dog IS capable and knowing how to immediately get her to respond and engage, as well as for coaching me on building mine and her confidence and to have fun! Thank you Alex, thank you Pedro and thank you Blackwater K-9!

The Blackwater team were absolutely amazing with my girl Sadie Mae. She spent 6 weeks with them in board and train. She came home yesterday and we are already seeing such a difference. Wow! They did an awesome transformational job on my 2.5 year old rottie!! He was formerly very reactive & would only listen when he wanted to (not obedient). He did the 6 week board & train & I almost cried when I saw him at pick up because of the drastic change. Puppies were playing with him & he still obeyed commands with all the distractions. Now that he’s been home his obedience has significantly improved, he always listens to commands, & is no longer reactive with people or dogs. Truly so proud of my boy & can’t thank the trainers enough!! Def recommend!!
