Back To Basics Dog Training

Let me start by saying, I have tried FOUR different trainers for my dog. No one has ever helped change his behavior and been willing to work with him. He is 4 years old now, and has struggled with reactivity. That was until we trained with Back to Basics. My dog has possession issues inside the home. He would resource guard HEAVILY, wouldn’t allow anyone to touch in the home, or even say my name. He was very reactive to everything. He would snap at visitors, not allow people on the couch, and really ran the house. If you met him now, you would never believe he had these problems. In only 4 sessions, Trainer Wenz helped us correct all of his behaviors. Everyone who interacts with my dog has noticed his changes. He’s more content in the home and is finally able to just relax. Our entire relationship has changed and I feel so much more relaxed knowing he doesn’t need to be scared and reactive all of the time. Trainer Wenz has changed our lives, and I cannot thank her enough for believing in Bruno and being willing to work with him where he was. Other trainers don’t take the time to understand your relationship with your dog and meet you guys where you’re at, Back to Basics does. I didn’t have to turn our lives upside down to help my dog improve, the changes were manageable and attainable. Trainer Wenz cares about your dogs like they are one of her own. She loves my dog just like I do and was the key to creating a more stable, loving, and relaxed home environment for my baby. Words don’t do enough to say how thankful we are that we didn’t give up after many other failed trainers and put all of our faith in Back to Basics. If you too have struggled with training, I promise you that Back to Basics will not let you down!

My dog and I were lucky enough to have had four individual sessions with Jenn. My dog's behavior wasn't terrible but we were definitely not communicating very well. After a little over a month we are more often on the same page. My dog he has calmed down quite a bit because of how Jenn helped me adjust my behavior to work with her. So glad that I found Back To Basics Dog Training and had the opportunity to work with Jenn.

We came home with a puppy and pretty clueless on what in the world to do, and after our lessons we have one of the best behaved dogs we could imagine. She is potty trained, doesn't bark or jump on people, sits, shakes, walks nice on leash...just awesome. More importantly - the format of coming to our house, our setting, and with our family (2 kids) made the difference. We were able to rotate who had 1:1 time with the trainer and our pup, personalize the coaching, and it helped everyone's confidence and practice in ways we'd never get in a group class. It also normed our expectations across the family - which helped tremendously with the puppy.

I can't recommend Wen enough! Before training, I never thought I'd see the day when Pluto would stop pulling me down the street or barking at various triggers. After just four sessions, the improvement has been incredible. Pluto is calmer, more focused, and much easier to manage on walks. I’m so grateful for Wen's expertise and patience. I can’t wait to continue working with her and the entire Back to Basics team. The progress we've made so far has been truly amazing!
