Art of the Dog Canine Academy

After doing some research and talking it over with family, I made the choice to put both of my pups into training with AOD. Luna was placed in obedience training, while Sky went through behavioral modification. Having my girls away for 3 weeks was HARD, but it was completely WORTH IT! Luna has made so much improvement! I can walk her now without worrying about her pulling, slipping out of her leash, or taking off. We can even leave her out of her crate during the day and come home to a clean house—which is huge considering before, she would get into anything and everything she possibly could 😂. She no longer jumps on people, her excitement around other dogs is much more manageable, and she has learned how to calmly approach other dogs when she wants to play. Sky's improvement has been just as massive. Before training, I was honestly scared to even take her for a walk because of her reactivity. Now, there is NONE! I have taken my girls on a walk every day since they came home, and we've crossed paths with several dogs—whether they're also out walking or in their yards—and Sky doesn't even blink! While having them gone for 3 weeks definitely wasn't easy, AOD made it so much better with the daily updates and pictures. Getting to see what our girls were working on and how they were doing was honestly the highlight of our days while they were away. ❤️ A HUGE thank you to all of the trainers who worked with our girls, especially their main trainer, Ben, for all the time, patience, and work he put into them! And another huge thank you to Isaiah, who walked my boyfriend and me through everything during their graduation and made sure we understood all the steps and how to continue working with them at home. We're so excited to finally be able to take our girls out with us and have peace of mind knowing they can behave while still getting to enjoy themselves and have fun! Seeing the difference in both of them has made those 3 weeks apart completely worth it. We seriously can't thank the AOD team enough! ❤️🐾 Edit to add: We recently went to New Mexico for a camping trip, and Luna and Sky were able to be off leash and did AMAZING!! My family knew what both girls were like before AOD and could not believe how well they behaved all weekend! They were so impressed and kept saying what little angels they were. Seeing their progress in a different setting just reinforced that choosing AOD was absolutely worth it!!

Throughout the program, they utilized kind, positive training methods that demonstrated true respect for both the dog and the owner, and their facilities were consistently safe and clean. Our dog was trained here and complete the behavior modification program. Because of Art of the Dog we are having a great life with him and he’s so much less anxious and is doing amazing. When we went on a recent trip out of state, we boarded our dog here because we knew he would be in really good hands. And he absolutely was. We got photos and he got some touchups on his training and was so well taken care of. He even got a bath! We appreciate Art of the Dog so much and highly recommend them for training and boarding!
