Simply put, Paige changed our life. Our reactive dog (Hannah) couldn’t be within 50 yards of another dog. She would growl, lunge, and pull. At 70lbs, she was difficult to manage around other dogs. We avoided walking anywhere that might have other dogs, often forced to walk once it was dark out to avoid triggers for her. She wasn’t enjoying walks at all and neither were we. Slowly, we began to work with our dog independently and got the distance to about 20-30 yards *if* the dog wasn’t barking. Still, Hannah was on edge and not relaxed. We realized we needed help taking the next step to getting physically closer to dogs in a safe way. We also needed to relocate our dog to the UK when we moved and realized we quickly needed to ramp up our training if she was going to make the move successfully as our only option was a flight of other dogs. The plane wasn’t longer than 20 ft so we figured it would be a miracle if Hannah could fly with 8 other dogs in that space. Enter Paige! During session 1, she worked with us and Hannah to a point where Hannah was touching butt-to-butt with Paige’s (incredibly well-trained) dog! It was a miracle. Immediately, Hannah became more responsive to us and seemed to trust us more on walks. During session 2, Hannah was comfortably sitting under a large table with 2 dogs. Not only did Paige help us with training, but she also provided us with a variety of other valuable resources to help us with the move. Now, our dog doesn’t react to other dogs while walking except in rare cases, like a dog barking/lunging at her in close proximity (which seems like a normal dog reaction to us!) She’s given Hannah a new life where she can relax and enjoy walks and we can begin to do the same!
