All Purpose K-9 LLC

I have this far had a great experience with All purpose K9. My newest adopt is a bully breed and a bit headstrong but incredibly sweet and happy. She loves going to the day board and train. She continues to learn good behaviors and walking etiquette. We had very briefly tried another balanced training and realized not all balanced trainers are the same and I was disheartened and not happy with the methods used by another trainer. My oldest dog is very leash reactive. We tried hiring a behavioral consultant which did not help. I am not joking when I say after one 2 hour session with Paige, my oldest can now have a peaceful walk without getting amped up with tools and methods she used. For my dogs, ecollars have not been required.

I had a great experience sending my deaf Pittbull Terrior, Tobi, for training with All Purpose k9. I chose to do the intermediate and train program, which was the four week boarding a training program. Utilizing an e-collar has been a game changer for Tobi, especially given his hearing impairment! Tobi is much better with leash walking and doesn’t pull on walks anymore! He also learned sit, down and come when called and with the trainer’s help in the follow up training sessions (included with the training package) I believe he’ll be able to walk without the leash in the right situations. While it was hard to send him away for four weeks, it was completely worth it. The trainers texted pictures and gave updates throughout his time away. I have no regrets!

Moving from out of state was stressful enough for our reactive Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix and finding someone to trust within the first few months was nerve-wracking for us but we truly found the perfect people for boarding and, eventually, training. The staff are very accommodating to individual needs and are experts when it comes to training, providing tailored lessons for even the most energetic breeds. Our dog Lewis was at the point that we weren't sure we could provide him the stability he needed to succeed, even after going to multiple trainers. Paige and Jordan not only helped Lewis to trust us, but also helped us to trust ourselves. We now have a dog that loves and trusts guests, has perfect recall, and loves going to see Ms. Paige and his friends at APK-9 when mom and dad are away. We could not be more grateful for the love and support we have felt here!

With a recent move to Columbus, OH. Our Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix struggled to adjust to people in and around our new apartment space. We first boarded Lewis at APK9 in the Fall and were immediately impressed by their commitment to take care of every dog that comes to their facility regardless of breed or level of behavior. After some mixed results from other trainers, we decided to ask Paige for some advice. Her knowledge and expertise for how to handle a nervous/reactive /anxious/big baby of a dog had us hooked and we knew we needed her help. She and Jordan have both come to our apartment to help Lewis know what he is and is not allowed to do around people. My confidence handling Lewis has skyrocketed from being afraid (to the point of tears) to take him out by myself, to knowing I can handle him, even if he does react. Lewis, on the other hand, is happier, calmer, and now makes better decisions in situations that make him nervous. Simply put, Paige and Jordan have completely changed the dynamic between Lewis, myself, and other people. I cannot say enough good things about APK9, especially if you have a reactive dog that you are struggling with. Thank you Paige, thank you Jordan, and thank you APK9!!!

Our stubborn, confident, and bossy 9 month old Scottish Terrier, Chip, participated in the 3 week board and train with All Purpose K-9. We could not have been happier with the results. Learning to "place", "sit", "down" (all while maintaining that position and staying until told to move), and "come" were surprising and big achievements. Jordan did a fantastic job working with, and training us during in home training sessions, and with Chip during his board and train. Jordan is very knowledgeable, and was patient answering all our questions and explaining everything he was doing. He worked with us using various collars and leash techniques to aide in training Chip. As a terrier, Chip is still very stubborn, but the gains he has made, with Jordan's help, have been amazing. He is even starting to obey the commands without his training collar. During our last training session, Jordan even helped us with how to properly use a bark collar that he recommended and we purchased to help with Chip barking and having a fit while we left him home alone in his cage. Chip did this so much that one of us always stayed home with him, or we took him with us, during the 9 months that we have had him. With Jordan's help with the bark collar, we were able to leave the house with Chip in his cage for close to 20 minutes and Chip remained calm and only barked a couple times. That was huge for us. The training never ends, and Chip will continue to learn, but he now has a solid base thanks to Jordan, and All Purpose K-9. We look forward to using their services in the future and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.
