The interruption of your dog's training did dismay me but it was absolutely necessary for him to start medications. I know you did not expect a partial refund as my Board and Train Agreement states there are no refunds. But, with the holidays coming up and your unplanned and unexpected loss of your job, I did the right thing with sending you a check for $1,000.00. I hope that it helped you and your family. Rambo was definitely a special needs dog. 150 pounds of 14 month old puppy with molar teeth that were razor sharp. I really got a kick out of the fact that he was thrown out of Obedience class prior to coming to me. He was not an easy dog to train and I sustained all too many bleeding wounds from him. What made it special for me was the expressed satisfaction by yourself and your grandmother Fran. O only wished that you brought him to me when he was 5 months and not 14 months. I hurt for a month after he left. I have a special place in my heart for both you and Fran for not giving up on Rambo. What really surprised me was how Rambo pretty much came out of the attack in the dog park by 5 dogs unscathed psychologically and physically. He is a fond memory same as you and Fran will always be. Megan & Cooper were a costly experience to me but a very rewarding experience. Megan is a very young woman with a good heart that got Cooper as I believe an 8 week old puppy 🐶. Cooper was exhibiting aggressive at a young age of 6 months. He came to me for 2 week Board and Train and I did a very nice job with him but he was a working dog, a Belgian Malinois. I asked Megan what inspired her to choose this breed. "He was a cute puppy", was Megan's response. Well, all puppies are cute but Cooper a Belgian Malinois is not your typical pet quality dog, they have to have a job.....they are working dogs. Megan realizing that she couldn't keep Cooper in a crate at her job stated she would have to re-home him. To whom? This dog needed a job besides a home. Belgian Malinois's are what we as professional dog trainers call German Shepherds on crack cocaine. I agreed to keep Cooper and train him which may take a full year to be able to do law enforcement work or military work. I had Cooper for 4 months at my expense with no charge for training with the intention of making Cooper marketable as a working dog. I did this out of love for the dog and reciprocity for the love for Cooper that Megan unfailingly exhibited. Megan is a very special young woman with a dedication of love for animals that is unparalleled. A client of mine who had placed their English Golden Retriever with me for training observed Cooper in one of the videos I sent playing with their dog Charlie and coincidence had it that they were looking at and researching Belgian Malinois dogs and seeing how well that Charlie and Cooper played in the video inquired about the availability of Cooper and whether the two dogs would be compatible. It was a match made perfectly in that Cooper was dominant and Charlie was submissive. The rest is a Disney ending.
