My husband and I, in a moment of utter insanity, adopted two Shepskie puppies (a friend’s dogs accidentally mated). As we are both blessed to be retired relatively early in life, we thought “what else do we have goin on?”. Six weeks later the white flag was raised. We were questioning our sanity (as were our neighbors) and the dogs were planning a party and buying toys off Amazon. We are pretty sure our cats were planning a mutiny of their own as well. We reached out to Jonathan and he explained his training program. How many businesses actually answer phones with real people. What we liked the best was that the girls would be in a home environment, around other dogs and two kittens. All we asked was they come home with better manners and he delivered. The girls were with Jonathan for two weeks. The care our girls received was excellent and his patience in the training exercises was quite remarkable…..the kind of remarkable where your mouth drops open and you wish he’d been around to train your kids. He took them to different environments for socialization including Lowe’s and group classes. He posts pics and videos on Instagram and unfortunately our only negative would be he was unable to send daily updates via text (we are not on Instagram and did not want to download another app.). If you are Instagram savvy you should see regular updates. Jonathan did respond to us each time we reached out which was great. The hardest part of this training process was not the dogs, it was/is me and my husband. When Jonathan brought them home he spent three hours discussing the how/why/when of each command, demonstrating the dogs using the commands and having us repeat the training exercise. Five minutes after he left we were screwing things up, but, his direction and packet helped us greatly. The girls respond to us immediately to “sit”, “stay”, “down”, and my favorite, “leave it” (turns out you don’t have to run screaming through the house to stop the dog from chasing the cat). The girls no longer jump for food, treats or water and rarely jump on us. Jonathan also loose leash trained the girls which is a fantastic help. Overall we could not be more please. Our girls are well mannered (for 5 month old puppies), we are not screaming at the top of our lungs (unless using our “game show” voice) and our home is pretty peaceful again (we still think the cats are planning something but we’re hip to them).
