It really is worth going to a quality trainer! I found You and Your Dog after a lot of research, I liked the idea that they offer more than just basic levels of training they offer speciality classes and focused workshops. I attended an orientation where I got to meet the trainers before we signed up for class, I was able to have confidence in their style of training before I handed over my money. The small classes give you a more personalized experience while still having that other dog distraction to work with. Each week we learn a few things and then we had homework to improve those commands outside of the training “treat room” environment. Then Ashley checks in with us on what was and wasn’t working and gives us tips that really fit our needs. They are not there to just go through the motions each week they want you and your dog to succeed! I love the “Ta” system as I don’t need to have a clicker on me, cause let’s be honest who has that ready every time you dog does something great. Before finding Y&YD I was considering board and train, we realized we needed the training too, which is the concept behind Y&YD training philosophy!
Kim was our trainer. She was fantastic and super helpful.
Ahsley is THE BEST. She has uncanny insights into dog behavior. I cannot recommend highly enough!
