We recently adopted a two-year-old male rescue who is a Fox Hound and German Shorthaired Pointer mix. According to the ad, he had spent most of his life roaming the swamps and forests of eastern North Carolina and was, for the most part, feral. Despite everything he’d been through, he was incredibly sweet and thrived on any attention he was given. Understandably, he also had a tremendous prey drive and very little structure, so we knew he would need professional training. One day, while at a local doctor’s appointment, I saw a small dog beginning his first day as a therapy-dog. He was so well-behaved and gentle that I approached the owner to ask about his trainer. I can’t say enough amazing things about Winnabow K9 Board & Train, LLC. Before training, my mini Goldendoodle, Belle, was a handful — full of energy, not listening, and honestly, I was at the point where I was considering re-homing her. It broke my heart, but I just didn’t know what else to do. Lora worked her absolute magic! Belle has come back a completely transformed pup — calmer( still a puppy),obedient, and so much more confident. She listens, follows commands, and our home feels peaceful again. The difference is night and day. I’m beyond grateful for Lora’s patience, care, and the love she put into teaching our little fur bestie! Lora was very thorough in her approach to training my 8 month old Aussie. She kept me informed of progress with videos and text messages. It was obvious that her training was working. He returned a more obedient and relaxed pet. Through training she built up His confidence which eliminated the barking and hostility he exhibited towards other people and their pets. He was afraid and that resulted in behaviors we needed to get control over. She spent time with me upon his return and shared how I now needed to continue the reinforcement she started. If you want a mind and considerate trainer for all dog breeds I highly recommend.
