FirstBarkRuth is awesome! My puppy Hank and I just recently finished the early puppy development program and I’d recommend it to anyone with a new puppy. In the class you will learn about pack leadership, how to check your dogs vitals and how to have your dog interact with other puppies/dogs. We really learned a lot! Our next step is obedience classes with Ruth!

We work with you and your dog to discourage bad behavior in your dog including typical behaviors like chewing, digging, jumping up, begging, and not listening. We also work with dogs that show signs of aggression towards other dogs or strangers, possessive behaviors (food and toys), fear and separation anxiety, hyperactivity, and many other behaviors. We will meet with you and your dog to review your challenges and will recommend the proper training needed to meet your goals.

Our early puppy classes are a fun and educational time for you and your puppy. Our class topics include thorough and varied socialization*, learning your rules, learning their place in the pack hierarchy of this new mixed species pack, successful housebreaking, learning bite inhibition and learning how to walk on a leash and go into a crate on command are the priority objectives. Laying this foundation properly has a major impact on the life and behavior of a dog as they get older.

Now you have taught us how to walk her with ease. We are all happier with the experience. Now we can enjoy walks again. Thanks for also teaching her to not jump in people when then come in the door. Kenzi is a calmer dog and we are happier parents thanks to you. We should have done this a long time ago.

My newly adopted shelter pup August and I recently completed four sessions with Ruth at Whole Dog University and the change in her has been nothing short of amazing. August was extremely anxious and not a care free pup who enjoyed life. I knew I needed to help her with this but didn’t know how. I tried other trainers before Ruth with little or no success. Ruth is a wonderful and patient teacher whose methods work and am so thankful she chose to move to Lebanon with WDU. August is a changed dog – she is happy, calm, confident, and stable. I am a changed owner who knows what my dog needs and how to influence her behavior. Ruth has a God-given gift for connecting with dogs and their owners to help them understand each other. Ruth's training made a positive difference for both August and my entire family. I can confidently say Ruth at WDU can offer help to owners with dogs who just need basic obedience to those experiencing tougher challenges and are to the point of giving up. Thank you Ruth from the bottom of my heart.
We could not be happier with Ruth at Whole Dog University! She took a personal interest in our 98 pound, 2 year old, Goldendoodle, Sheena. She showed us how to correct several behavioral problems in our first lesson and Sheena continues to improve every day. Ruth is a wonderful instructor and I would highly recommend her to anyone!
