We work with you and your dog to discourage bad behavior in your dog including typical behaviors like chewing, digging, jumping up, begging, and not listening. We also work with dogs that show signs of aggression towards other dogs or strangers, possessive behaviors (food and toys), fear and separation anxiety, hyperactivity, and many other behaviors. We will meet with you and your dog to review your challenges and will recommend the proper training needed to meet your goals.

Our early puppy classes are a fun and educational time for you and your puppy. Our class topics include thorough and varied socialization*, learning your rules, learning their place in the pack hierarchy of this new mixed species pack, successful housebreaking, learning bite inhibition and learning how to walk on a leash and go into a crate on command are the priority objectives. Laying this foundation properly has a major impact on the life and behavior of a dog as they get older.

Ruth is amazing! Not only does she teach normal obedience, she also helps with behaviors in your home. She is willing to come to your house, even went to the vet with me! She is awesome. I recommend her to everyone who has a new dog in the family!!

She’s ready to help with any questions, providing not only sound and useful advice but also explaining why we train the way we do. It’s not something you’ll get online in forums. Our family got a puppy was an early litter removal without our knowledge. When I realized how young the pup was, I was very concerned, and we were seeing behaviors that made me worried that we wouldn't be able to keep her. After getting some recommendations from my local vet, I called Ruth, and she spent quite a long time talking to me on the phone regarding some tips for dealing with some of the issues we were having. We decided it was important to try obedience puppy training, and our Sophie graduated last week. The behavior problems have almost completely disappeared, and when they pop up, we now know exactly what to do to deal with them. We highly recommend Ruth and Whole Dog University!
Ruth is excellent. She is extremely personable and knowledgeable that very good attention to detail. I highly recommend Ruth's training. You will get a better relationship with your dog afterwards and be very pleased with the turnaround in your pup's behavior. Our four year old princess has completely changed.
