We are so happy with our experience purchasing our black Lab puppy from Kayla at Wheatland Retrievers! From the start, Kayla was exceptional in her communication. When the litter we had placed a deposit on arrived earlier than expected, she made sure we still found the perfect puppy for us. We also took advantage of her puppy-raising program for weeks 8-12, which was an absolute game-changer. The training and attention Kayla provided helped lay a solid foundation for crate and potty training, making the early stages of puppyhood much smoother for us. Kayla has a real talent for matching families with the right puppy. We were looking for an outgoing, intelligent, trainable, and affectionate family dog—and that’s exactly what we got! Even after the purchase, Kayla has been quick to respond to any follow-up questions we’ve had. We’ve had several people ask where we got our puppy, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kayla to anyone or purchase another puppy from her in the future. If we lived closer, we’d definitely use her for boarding and additional training services. Working with Kayla was a great decision, and we love our pup!

Having a multi-dog home and wanting to get a lab to dabble in dock diving with, Kayla and I had some pretty lengthy chats about needs and wants. For my first lab, Kayla paired me with Bayou from Blair x Willie’s Charlie’s Angels litter born in Dec ‘22. Fast forward to the present. After quarantining my dogs for a month I was quite skeptical of attending dock diving Nationals. I wasn’t sure if my dog would remember what to do as it was not only his first season but we only competed for half of the season. We ended up going to Nationals and he competed in all three events, at not even 2 years old. While competing in Bayou’s favorite event, hydro dash, he managed to not only swim out of his masters division and into elite but still place while at Nationals! He also jumped out of his distance masters division and into elite with a jump of 24’5. He’s currently going through the world’s longest and most annoying teenage phase (helllloooooo lab!) but I wouldn’t trade him for the world. He’s everything I asked for and more. Kayla has answered every question I’ve had along the way, never gets annoyed with my seven trillion random updates & is the most supportive breeder a person could ask for. She truly wants to place dogs in homes where it’s a perfect fit all around & she has a gift for knocking it out of the park. We can’t wait for our next Wheatland Labrador💛

This was my first experience partnering with a breeder and Kayla outdid herself! She was quick to contact me after my initial inquiry and made me feel like we were old friends after a few exchanges. She did an excellent job pairing me with a puppy that was just right for our household and he has turned out to be such an outstanding young man! She made the process easy, kept me well informed and it was great to be able to visit the facility and see how Wheatland operates! Thank you Kayla!

We were in the market for a new Lab pup last spring and after our first discussion with Kayla, we knew we were in the right place. Our pup was from the Callie/Rocky litter born in March 2024. We picked up our black female on May 9th and knew immediately we had something special. Our pup ( Letty ) is absolutely beautiful! She is everything we wanted. She is highly intelligent, loves to learn/train and sleeps all night. At 7 months she loves to retrieve birds and just recently passed her puppy obedience class in flying colors. Kayla has a great line of Labs. I hope to do business with Wheatland Dog Center again in the future. Thanks Kayla for a great puppy!
