Vital K9 Training & Boarding

We were ready to return our rescue shepherd mix to the rescue facility, she was a handful. But, on a recommendation, we decided to give VitalK9 a try before making a final decision. We are thrilled that we did. This is a very professional and competent service. Basically all the major behavioral problems we were experiencing were all on the mend after two training sessions. All we had to do was follow the suggestions given us by Abigail and things began moving in the right direction. She more or less trained us to train our dog. She is very cooperative and flexible. She had a natural rapport with our dog. She offered many suggestions for continued training that will be benificial well beyond our training sessions. Follow up was commendable. I don’t ever leave bad reviews but I just want to warn others so that they don’t experience the same issues I had. I reached out and really wanted to bring my dog here. I’ve talked to them several times in the past several months and loved the idea of the board and train that they offer. For financial reasons with us having a new baby, we’ve had to wait a little bit to get our dog in. I haven’t looked into any other board and train programs after we found this one though because that’s how much I’ve wanted to bring my dog here. Now that we’re ready to do this and were put on the schedule as a tentative for the end of this month and scheduled to meet the trainer on Sunday, I received a text on Tuesday demanding a deposit or told we would lose our spot that we’ve waited months for before we even could meet the trainer. She didn’t offer to let me pay it on Sunday after I met her, she demanded it right then or I would lose my spot because quote “she had someone else that wanted to get in”. I don’t throw my money around to just anyone and meeting the trainer before placing money down is important to me to make sure this is the right fit for my dog. This trainer has even reached out to me to ask about me coming there and then when I finally do, she pulls this?! There are a lot of dog trainers that are not shady. This unfortunately, is not one of them. She states that she cares about you and your dog but that’s not the case because after months of talking to this trainer it came down to solely about money and who would pay her the fastest without meeting her. When I stated that I was unhappy she offered no option to remedy the situation just that I could find another trainer. So now after waiting for months, I have to start my search again and waste more time. Take my advice and do not waste your time here because as soon as someone comes along that has more money than you do, you and your dog will be absolutely nothing to her. I think maybe when she started out she cared about dogs and helping people but not now, it’s all about the money.
