I never write Goggle Reviews, but am making an exception in the case of Theresa at VIpets. I have always had a dog and have taken a German Shepherd and a Doberman Pincher through advanced obedience trials and specialized training. I say this so you know I have worked with a lot of dog trainers and consider Theresa to be the best, by far, that I have worked with. Skittles (male Bichon) and I began training with puppy classes at VIpets when he was 8 weeks old. Although he quickly picked up the skills being taught, Theresa quickly picked upon his genetic disposition to over socialize with people and dogs which had been escalated by friends and neighbors who loved to be his “best friend.” With Theresa’s training advice, we got this tendency under control. Next we took the basic obedience class, and again the skills involved were no problem in the classroom, but Theresa noticed his tendency to pull on the leash when he was “free” outside, and since that is a problem for me at 82 years of age, she gave me the advice and tools to put an end to that problem. Then a new problem came up. My son recently retired to live on a “farm,” so Skittles needed to be a farm dog as well as a city dog and he had to come immediately when running free on the farm. Again Theresa answered our need for help. With a couple of private lessons with the right equipment and Theresa training of both of us we were getting the correct results. Last month he passed his “field trial” when he broke off chasing a wild turkey to return to me when called. Last week I texted Theresa the following which I’ll share: Hi Theresa, wanted to share an update on Skittles because he was amazingly good today. On our walk we came to a woman who always makes a fuss over him and her old, little dog. Skit went “down,” let her and her dog approach him and didn’t move. Then we came to a man using a walker and again Skit went down and didn’t move until we finished talking and I told him to heel. Even better, he wasn’t wearing a training collar! Off the leash, he comes immediately even with rabbits in sight. So, Skittles will be 1 year old Oct 14, 2026, and thanks to Theresa’s training skills, patience and most of all her ability to “listen “to both of us, he is a happy, well adjusted member of our family who can go anywhere and be welcomed by everyone. Thanks Theresa, as Skittles says, “you’re the best trainer ever!”

MJ is off to a great start after training with VIPet. The years of experience and expertise that Theresa shared with us gave MJ the time and confidence to shine. As a new Rescue pup Mom I learned so much! Patience, love and consistency in triplicate helped MJ to bond and trust me to have her back in any setting. She’s doing so well we are venturing into Nose/Scent Work with Theresa as a form of enrichment and fun. We highly recommend VIPet Services for all your training needs !

My 7 month old lab and I have taken 3 of Theresa programs, puppy class, intermediate class and now the nose work class. They all have been extremely helpful in training both of us how to work together. Theresa’s class sizes are very small so you receive a lot of one on one training that is specific to you and your dog’s needs. She is very good at demonstrating and teaching during the classes but also gives you exercises and tips to work on at home. I have recommended Theresa’s programs to several people and will happily continue to going forward.
