UberDog Training

As a veterinarian, I have been exposed to many different ways of training and interacting with dogs. I came to UberDog looking for a fun and unique way to work on my bond with my 11 month old Pitbull, Winston. After the in-home demo with Greg, I was sold! Winston LOVED the training and of course, his new friends Greg and Katrina. And I loved the new approach to communication with my dog. I can tell a huge difference in Winston's focus and attentiveness. His biggest improvement is walking right beside me without pulling - what an accomplishment for him! I recommend UberDog to all of my clients who express interest in training or just a new way to spend time with their dog.

We decided to get Harper extra training when he was almost a year old due to fearfulness of new people and situations. He has also nipped several people he was not familiar with when they came into our house. UberDog has helped us to expand Harper's horizon and helped us to understand the importance of getting him to listen and pay attention to us all the time not just sometimes. We are still working on how he behaves around strangers but we think that with more exposure to different situations and with better listening he will get better. We decided to go with UberDog because of the great reviews. When we met Greg for the first time we were sold. We have had the in home sessions, but the part that we really think will make a difference is the lifetime group classes. Obviously you get out of it what you put in, but I think continued owner and dog training is a huge component to having a good dog. Harper loves it and so do we!

I have been in the rescue field for several years and have always had dogs of my own. My most challenging dog, Katie, is an American Pit Bull Terrier. She was abandoned after being used as a breeding dog and had no self esteem or confidence. Katie was very comfortable with me but shook so violently when someone else approached her that she couldn't move. While Katie actually adored people, her life had been so chaotic she lacked the security to respond with any measure of trust. She would freeze like a statue and it was heartbreaking. Her fear began to overwhelm her and she even had a few fear aggression reactions to other dogs. I was not prepared for the special care she would need to survive her past. She was so gentle and loving yet unable to allow herself to trust anyone unless the visit was prolonged to give her time to adjust. Katie needed help and so did I. She began her journey at Uberdog after an adoption with a high energy dog fell through. Katie needed help desperately to develop a since of well being. Uberdog was our God-send. She began training in January 2013 and quickly gained the nickname of Rock Star ! Both Katie and I had so much trust in Katrina, her trainer. She would listen intently to Katie's needs. She blossomed and immediately progressed. Before I knew it Katrina was suggesting trick and agility training. I wasn't sure she was ready but Katrina assured me she was. Katie took to the training right away. The pride she displays is amazing. Katie is now confident, courageous and full of life. On Monday night June 3, 2013 she went to a baseball game for an adoption event and wowed everyone ! She walked up and down the grandstand greeting young and old as if she had never known fear. She doesn't panic and cower behind me. She doesn't pull intently on the leash trying to flee. She is a true joy even with strangers, When she meets a dog she does so without aggression or reaction. At last her love for people can be known because of all the hard work she has done. She can be a dog without the ghosts of fear from the past. Without Uberdog, Katie's future was uncertain at best. At times, it even looked bleak. There is not a doubt in my mind that Katrina Kranz and the expert compassionate training at Uberdog saved Katie's life. I am forever grateful and indebted to Katrina. I would recommend Uberdog to anyone with a dog who needs guidance, stability, confidence, manners or the ability to live life to the fullest with their Canine companion.

Cliff notes: An Amazing Experience. Greg and Katrina are helpful from the first free demo through every group class you will ever attend. They not only know you - they know your dog and their quirks/traits/likes/dislikes/habits --- everything. It's only been 6 weeks, but my furry companion, Sailor, has made monumental progress. I wanted to be able to do everything with her and make sure she and I felt safe and comfortable in all situations (other dogs, lots of people, cars, water, etc). This training will get you and your pooch speaking the same language --- Sailor and I are in sync and both can enjoy our time outside of the house more than we ever could before. The relationship you will build with your dog is priceless - this training is a must!
