Two Dads Dog Training

We did the puppy manners class with this group and they are so wonderfully welcoming, kind, and really ready to spend what time you need for explanation on the concepts of puppy care and training. I had to miss some classes and they sent me all the worksheets and made sure I knew I could ask any time if I had questions. If I had to mention two minor downsides it is the orientation being in-person (it can be a long drive right in traffic time and pups can’t come anyway, so if zoom was an option I know I would have loved it!). Second, I am sure they have reasons they don’t do it, but they do not let the puppies play together at any time in the class. Part of what I was hoping for was some relatively safe socialization after training tired my puppy out. So I was a bit bummed this was not a part of the class. However, on the good side it does mean you stick to the program the whole time and get you training time in!

We used two dads and a dog to start in-home training with our new puppy the week she came home . Luis had her doing everything he asked of her within the first training session and gave us so many helpful tips on getting her to enjoy her crate, working on her giving us her attention etc. Luis continued to come to the house over the first few months and every session was incredibly helpful in getting her a jump start on training before she was vaccinated and able to really go out and about in the world. We get so many tips on how well behaved and well trained our 4 month pup is now that we’re out and exploring!

We had a fantastic experience with Luis from the beginning. Even before we made an in-person appointment he was very informative and able to give us starter pointers. I love the mentality of using concepts instead of just focusing on a single behavior as it applies in so many other ways. We started with 2 sessions and know we will go back if and when the time comes. Highly recommend if using for long term or even just short term.
