Two Dads Dog Training

I am a new dog owner and have a lot to learn with a new puppy, Charlotte. We took the Puppy Manners courses, 1 and 2, with Michael and Luis. With their guidance we have had great results in a very short period of time. They made me so much more aware of understanding a dog's point of view, and the importance of consistency and repetition with positive reinforcement. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

I started on our puppy training journey hoping to be worthy of having a dog with such a good temperament and so much potential. I discovered Two Dads and a Dog by a chance internet search and boy, have we ever lucked out! Michael is a fantastic trainer!! He is compassionate and patient and approaches all training with positive reinforcement. His training approach has helped me learn how to develop an even deeper bond with my dog. I am hoping to have my dog become a certified therapy dog. Michael has the knowledge and skillset to help us achieve our goals from puppy obedience training to Canine Good Citizen to therapy dog certification. I would recommend him to anyone no matter where they are in their dog training journey!!

My fiancé and I live in Mars with our two English Cream Golden Retriever puppies and, while we've had dogs in the past, neither of us have ever had puppies. We quickly realized that we needed help and guidance from the best in how to train them. My fiancé is pro bono solicitor for the Butler County Humane Society, and they helped us contact a prominent Butler County Goldens breeder for a referral. That breeder had one, and only one, referral: Two Dads and a Dog. I wish that I'd studied writing in college instead of business, because I lack the prose to truly convey how wonderful, accommodating, and professional they've been! We elected their in-home training package: 4 1-hour sessions for $400, which is insanely cheap for the value they provided. Michael came to our home and worked with us as much as the pups to give us the education and training we needed. He was kind, professional, and guided us through everything we did; he explained the purpose of each technique, and how it fit into the overall training. Perhaps the best thing I loved about Michael is that he was open to discussing our desired end-result and how to achieve it. He didn't force us to adopt his vision, and he was happy to hear what our goal was: we want trained dogs who won't jump up, won't endanger themselves, and will come when we say - we don't want zombies without individual personalities. We are well on our way to happy pups in a happy home, and we could NOT have done it without Two Dads and a Dog. We have and will continue to recommend them to everyone we know, and you will be extremely satisfied when you do the same.

We worked with Michael in private training sessions with our puppy and then took a group puppy class with both Michael and Luis. We thought both the private training and the group class were very helpful teaching us how to better work with our dog. Prior to working with them, we read books and watched videos by trainers such as Sophia Yin and Zak George. I do think the books/videos were well worth our time, but time with a live trainer made a huge difference. There are lots of nuances and tricks that only individualized attention from a professional can really get across. And besides really knowing their stuff, they were extremely generous with their time, helping us to problem solve for our puppies unique issues.
