True Canine Training

10/10 — Truly Life-Changing Dog Training! Working with Ben was absolutely worth the investment — the results in just 3 weeks blew us away. Our two puppies used to pee and poop all over the house, pull like crazy on walks, and fight with each other nonstop. The barking was so bad you could hear it through the entire house — it was exhausting and stressful. We even tried another trainer who used only positive reinforcement, but after that, our puppies got worse with potty training. We interviewed five different dog schools before finding Ben — and from the very first greeting session, we were impressed. He clearly knows what he’s doing, and you can see it immediately in how the dogs respond. He’s not a pushy salesperson trying to upsell or overcharge. He’s genuine, professional, and focused on real results. We’re pretty picky, but even for us — Ben is a solid 10/10. Now our pups are listening, no more accidents on the carpet, no jumping on the couch, no chewing things they shouldn’t. And best of all — we’re not constantly yelling, chasing them around, or feeling stressed about having dogs. Our home is calmer, our pups are happier, and we finally feel like we’re in control. I’ve already recommended Ben to all my neighbors with “crazy” or untrained dogs — because what he did in just 3 weeks seriously improved the quality of life for both us and our pups. We adopted Rocky from the Maricopa shelter just prior to Thanksgiving. My husband went to meet him, and he seemed non-reactive towards other dogs and was very relaxed in the meeting area. He was a stray and intact. We got him home and he did very well with our female dog. Over the course of the next two weeks, he bit my husband (hard) around 9 times. It didn't appear to be out of viciousness but seemed more, I'm confused or don't like this situation so I'm going to bite. We were committed to Rocky. We knew if we took him back to the shelter they'd put him down. He was 85% great dog, but we didn't know how to fix the 15%. I did some research and found Ben at True Canine Training. My husband called and had a long talk and set the first meeting. Ben came and picked up Rocky shortly thereafter for a 4-week Board and Train program. We got regular updates during this time and were very excited for his return. Needless to say, the dog we got back is the one we'd hoped that we adopted. To go from a dog that didn't know how to go down a flight of stairs, sit, kennel or anything else for that matter, to the BEST trained dog we've ever had is simply amazing. No more biting, not reactive towards passing cars or other dogs/people. Ben walked us through the process and what was expected of us to continue the training. We've had one follow up visit and he even helped set us up for success with our female. Second follow up is tonight and we are excited for Ben to see Rocky's progress. We can't thank Ben enough for his work and helping us with Rocky. We knew there was a good dog in there, just didn't know how to find it. I highly recommend True Canine Training. If I could give Ben 1000 stars I would! My dog “Duke” is a high drive blue heeler and we had done some baseline work. However, he was so reactive to many things from bikes, to kids, to anything he could chase. This dog would flip a switch and focus on his high prey drive. I felt like I failed my dog and was heart broken when we would try to be in public. Now after having Ben work with us, it’s truly night and day! I can drive with Duke in the car and he doesn’t try to eat every bike or motorcycle he sees. I can call my dog into heel, I have a much more engaged and good citizen dog! Now we can enjoy things more out in public and I do not have the fear of him attacking a bike or chasing someone. Truly life changing and it helped me build an even better relationship with my dog.

I don’t know where to start on our immense gratitude that we have for Ben Ryba and True Canine Training. We first came to Ben feeling truly defeated after rescuing our new puppy Riggs. Riggs had developed extreme reactivity and signs of aggression towards people - it became paralyzing to try to take him out of the house as he would lunge and bark aggressively at anyone or anything within 50 feet of us. He had a few circumstances with biting strangers hands and started to show signs of uneasiness towards others in our home. I read a review on True Canine from a Women who struggled similarly with her highly reactive dog and claimed that True Canine saved her dogs life. I’m so glad I came across that review because it truly pushed me to take a chance on True Canine training over others and now I can say that Ben Ryba also saved Riggs life. Ben has a true passion for understanding the science and nature of dogs and has an incredible way of articulating how they work so you can cultivate a greater bond with your dog and feel empowered about handling them under any circumstance. Ben is patient, kind and extremely reassuring. All I can say is - trust the process and follow Ben’s directions and instructions and you will create a much better life for you and your dog. We can now let Riggs run off leash, take him out in public, and walk him without the constant anxiety for his safety and everyone else around him. Ben is the best dog trainer I have ever worked with. He was a referral from a colleague of mine had a difficult situation with the dog and he was able to take my puppy and train him on both leash and E collar as well as as an assistance dog. I needed to rehome them and he was kind enough to board and trained Bane until we found a great home for him. They truly loved my dog and showed compassion for him and my situation. He was very helpful and always attentive to my dogs needs. Even when my puppy need to be hospitalized for several days Ben was there to look after him. I highly recommend him to anyone who desires a happy, well trained dog
