Working with Ben was a life-changing experience I have a 2-year old red heeler who used to resource guard me and my belongings and lived in a constant state of high arousal. I had two incidents where my dog bit family members and knew I needed to hire a professional. I struggled to pick a trainer, but I truly believe Ben was the best choice for us. I had worked with a trainer previously and didn’t see results After just one phone call with Ben, I was sold. After only one session, we were already seeing results in things I had been trying to train for years. I had done a lot of training with my dog but lacked consistency because I didn’t know what would actually produce results. Ben was extremely knowledgeable and explained not only what I was doing wrong and how to fix it but also what results I should expect. He taught my dog to respect me and not blow off commands and went above and beyond to improve his obedience in the house and on walks. I left every session excited to work more with my dog and see how far he can improve. Bens balanced training approach worked amazing for me and my dog, and I now feel confident having my dog around family members using the techniques he taught me. Ben truly understands dogs and loves what he does. I am looking forward to learning more from him in our follow-up sessions. Absolutely thrilled with the training Ollie received from Ben! We did the 3 weeks board and train and since Ollie has made remarkable progress in obedience and socialization. We sent our two year old golden retriever to Ben for the board and train program and are blown away with the results! Our dog has always been sweet, loyal, and playful, but he struggled to listen to commands and was really stubborn. We wanted this behavior corrected and Ben was able to do that and more. After training with Ben, our dog still has his fun-loving personality, but now listens and responds to commands immediately and walks perfectly on the leash. We’re so pleased with Ben’s training and recommend him to anyone!

We first started working with Ben in March of 2024. At the time we had 2 dogs (4 year old german shepherd mix and 2 year old Australia shepherd/kelpie mix - both rescues) and just had adopted a third (9 week old husky/pitbull mix). Our 2 dogs struggled with some leash reactivity and basic commands but one of main reasons for seeking out training was that we were struggling with integrating the puppy into the home with the other two and boundaries. From the initial consultation and Ben coming to our home and spending time with us, it was so clear how knowledgeable and experienced he was. He suggested his in home training program would be a good fit for our pups and we are so grateful we made the investment. All of our dogs happily coexist/play together, walk incredibly well in a heel position in the community and follow basic commands/boundaries within our home. We even always get compliments from family/friends how great they are trained/behaved when we bring them over. We recommend and probably talk way too much about Ben to anyone who even slightly mentions they have behavioral struggles with their pup(s). Some friends have even followed through and made the investment to work with him and reiterate how great of a decision it was. We have also boarded our dogs with Ben a few times when we are out of town. They always come home refreshed and we feel safe knowing they are in good hands while we're away. Fast forward to August 2025, over a year later after first working with Ben, he has been there for us when we have questions or challenges arise. We even just had our first kiddo and we were able to reach out and connect with him on how to acclimate our pups to this new change and they're doing absolutely amazing. We are truly so grateful for Ben with True Canine!!!
