My husband and I highly recommend David! Our dog Patton did the two week training program, and it is so worth it to have a better behaved dog. David and Patton had such a good connection and we knew Patton was happy to be there because of their connection and how great he is with dogs. He also sent us email updates on how Patton was doing during the week and sent us pictures of him during training and out in the community.

Wally is our 2 year old Sheltie who was very anxious and had fear-reactivity. We couldn't have anyone over the house without him barking non-stop. He would bark at everything... from opening windows to vacuuming. He was always visibly anxious and couldn't calm down once he was triggered by something. We tried so many trainers in the area and nothing worked. Ever since we brought him home from this training program he is noticeably calmer and less anxious. He listens and we can have people to our house without worrying about his behavior. I can clean without him barking and attacking everything from a broom to the paper towels. David taught us how to implement the training in our home, and while we still have work to do, we are so happy with the outcome.

I am so happy with the progress my dog, Cenek, has made with the help of Trouwe Hond. Just a few weeks after coming home and he is listening better than ever before. He now walks calmly next to me instead of trying to drag me down the street. Prior to his time with David, Cenek would bark excessively when he saw another dog or when people came over. Thanks to our training, he is able to stand next to another dog without reacting and is far calmer and relaxed than ever before! His barking at guests is still a work in progress, but getting better every day. I have seen more improvement in Cenek’s training/behavior in the past month than I did in the past year and a half trying to train and desensitize him myself. My only regret is not reaching out to David sooner.

Thank You, does not express the Gratitude we have for the training that our 7 month old Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Taco, received during the 2-week Board & Train program. We delivered a puppy, who had been cooped up over the winter, was full of energy and unaware of both his surroundings and how truly strong he was. The progress that Dave made in 2-weeks is nothing short of amazing. Dave was able to draw out Taco’s intelligence, obedience and instill a sense calm that has transformed Taco into the family dog we had hoped and dreamed of. Whether in public or in private, Taco’s behavior has been excellent and Taco has done a complete 180-degree turn from an uncontrollable goofy puppy to an obedient fun loving family dog. In addition to Taco’s Training, Dave was excellent in training us as the Owners. He is able to breakdown the training into easily understandable and relatable techniques. Dave asked all the right questions and was able to diagnose our household of young children and additional pets. He is able to relate the psychology of a dog to the environment within which they live, and provided us with the proper tools and techniques to have control of that environment. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversations, both on a professional and on a personal level, and looked forward to attending our training sessions. We walked away in amazement, not only from the progress that Taco has made, but with the ease and control that Dave was able to also teach us. One of the best aspects of Trouwe Hond K-9 is that Dave welcomes you into his home (literally) and you leave being part of his extended family. Communication, including pictures and videos of Taco’s progress were fantastic to receive. Timely check-ins after completing the training are greatly appreciated and motivating.
