Tranquil Dog

I met Sara through Hartman’s Haven Animal Rescue when I needed guidance on a foster dog that was having severe PTSD. Sara worked closely with the rescue and was able to give me practical advise that helped greatly. She even worked with the adopters to address ongoing issues and now the dog is a wonderful, well adjusted member of the family. Fast forward to May when I adopted a 3 year old pug, Tucker, with anxious, reactive behaviors. I called on Sara and by the end of our session at the Tranquil Dog facility, Tucker was calm and very well mannered and once I got home I put my new skills to use with great success.

We were looking for someone to help with our new little/big puppy “Simba” and was referred to Sara with Tranquil Dog through Foothills Canine Rescue. In the beginning we didn’t know what type of training he needed. We knew when we found Sara, we were in the right place. My Mom and I set up an appointment to see what she could offer. I have to say, this lady is amazing! She offers many different training and behavioral needs for all dogs. We decided to sign up for 3 full 8 hour days of training. Her facility has several large rooms in which she uses for different training things. Crate and kennel training was important to us. We needed to learn how to get our “Simba” used to being in his “safe” place which is his kennel without being terrified of being left alone. We also needed help getting him to listen & behave in other areas. Sara offered everything we needed. That week went great! I was able to conveniently drop him off in the mornings and pick him up after my work schedule. She went above and beyond to help make it easy for us. I have to say, in just 3 days our Simba learned so much and made huge progress. He is still a puppy and we have to remember that, but the things she taught him have worked. Sara also uses her own dogs for socialization and playful training. We plan to take him back in a few weeks for more training and to refresh his memory. We feel she has a “natural talent” to work with and understand dogs in a way we don’t. We want to recommend and refer Sara to anyone who needs help with their dog. On a scale of 1 -10, Sara you get a 12. We can’t wait to see and work with you again.

Sara is absolutely amazing!!! I can't even describe how much me and my puppy loved her. After only a week since Sara came for a session with us my 15 week old beagle/blue heeler puppy is already sooooo much better in terms of her behavioral problems. Sara also teaches you as the owner many things about your dog as well. There's so much more that goes into her training sessions than just training. It's all about behavior if your dog AND you, as well as nutrition, exercise, and so much more. She's such a great person and is so in tune with animals it's almost surreal. I 100% recommend her to anyone with a dog whether you need major behavioral help or just some manners training or nutritional help. You get so much more that what you pay for from her in terms of knowledge and a very happy and well behaved puppy!

I am with a dog rescue. We were alerted to a dog that had been dumped at a shelter and was terrified. He was so scared that he could not even be walked on a leash. The shelter staff was trying to find him a placement but given what was known about him, finding a foster was impossible. In order to help him, we had to know what his issues were. I contacted Sara on the advice of a rescue acquaintance. I was hopeful but not sure what reception I would receive from Sara…everyone is so busy. I was immediately so impressed by Sara’s easy manner and down to earth personality. I made an connection with her and was so impressed with her compassion. Bless her heart..she quickly found time to go to the shelter and spent an entire morning working with him. She made tremendous progress with him being able to walk on a leash, gave the shelter staff the hope they were needing, and was able to share a significant amount of easy to understand importance information about him and his needs to me. This was the very thing we needed to publicize him with critical information and it led to the right person seeing his post. With this knowledge, this wonderful person was able to take him into her home and they continue to make progress. Sara followed the efforts and early on offered to help the dog integrate into a home. She spoke to the foster prior to her picking him up. She has stayed in touch, providing support and information along the way. This lucky dog will soon be adopted by his foster. Make no mistake, without Sara’s motivation, compassion, knowledge and effort, this dog would never have made it to his new home. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Sara. I call Sara for ALL my dog questions and concerns. She helped save my dogs life by walking me through the Heimlich maneuver with calm direction and I couldn’t be more grateful. She’s also helped my with my dogs quality of life by advising me on the healthiest foods and supplements to feed her. My dog lived her best life until she was 13 and I owe a lot of that to Sara. I highly recommend you let her help you with training, behavior and overall wellness. You and your dog will be happy.
