I have a nine month old German/Australian Shepard female who will refuse to get in to my truck due to previous car sick episodes. I want to take her with me when I go places. I’m very frustrated!! Any helpful advice would be appreciated!

Hi Sarah,
I would recommend talking with your vet about medication for car sickness. It can be helpful to rule out car sickness first before going the training route.

I am not a trainer, but my dog was the same. I got in the back with her and a treat. I sat there for 20 minutes with her without the car running. I got out with her, walked her around the car, then did it again. She is great now!

Our Old English Sheepdog puppy Martha is currently taking her fourth class at this wonderful place, and we've also done private training with Tera James. The experience is been entirely positive. The tips are helpful and practical, and the trainers truly seem to love dogs. They are kind, patient and thoughtful—and Martha loves coming here. We'll keep training because we find ourselves looking forward to every session, and we learn something new every time.

When we got our puppy we were using an online training course. It was helpful, but being able to take our puppy to such a nice facility with excellent trainers made a huge difference. We have done both a group class and private lessons. The group class helped to develop a good foundation for training and the private lessons are wonderful for working on individual issues with our puppy. The group classes are also beneficial for teaching the dog how to deal with distractions while learning. Our puppy has shown steady progress and is growing up to be a really great dog! As a first time dog owner I was overwhelmed with having a puppy. Training spot offered group classes to get us comfortable with the basics, and we signed on for private in home sessions to help with getting our dog used to strangers coming to the door, being around other animals, trouble shoot escaping from the yard, and curb excessive barking. Tera and her team has done it all using a positive feedback manner and broken it down in manageable ways that we could replicate on our own. They are absolutely fantastic, incredibly intuitive, and I cannot recommend them enough.
