I have a nine month old German/Australian Shepard female who will refuse to get in to my truck due to previous car sick episodes. I want to take her with me when I go places. I’m very frustrated!! Any helpful advice would be appreciated!

Hi Sarah,
I would recommend talking with your vet about medication for car sickness. It can be helpful to rule out car sickness first before going the training route.

I am not a trainer, but my dog was the same. I got in the back with her and a treat. I sat there for 20 minutes with her without the car running. I got out with her, walked her around the car, then did it again. She is great now!

Although we were unable to continue meeting for class in person she arranged to continue online and was phenomenal. Katie made sure we all had individualized attention, and was sure to answer any question that arose. Lu officially "graduated" training 101 about 15 minutes ago and I surely will be signing her up for the next session even if it needs to continue through online during our isolation! Thank you Training Spot and Katie for making this such a positive experience through such trying times!
