Train Your Pup

Train Your Pup is a gem. The trainers care about the dogs and use only positive reinforcement. Although we have owned many dogs over the years our newest dog, Grover, displayed some new behaviors for us. We adopted Grover during the pandemic when he was 8 months old. He was extremely fearful; the first time we walked past a snowman he became terrorized. Grover would either freeze up when we walked near another dog or he would lunge at the dog. We contacted Danielle and she did a home session with Grover. Her suggestions during that one visit were so insightful that we saw immediate results with Grover. She gave us strategies to help Grover overcome his fears. In addition, she recommended that we attend two different training classes at Train Your Pup and to have Grover also attend their day care several times a week to help with socialization. Kylie was the trainer for the two different training classes. It was quickly apparent that this was not just a job for Kylie but a passion. She spent much time talking with the dog owners even after the class was finished. She had great ideas and was so very patient. Grover went from being afraid to walk from the sidewalk onto a small door mat to walking over bridges, and many different surfaces. He is calmer, happier and has learned many coping skills. Day care went from being a place of great fear to one that he can't get to fast enough because he wants to play with the other dogs. Thank you to the staff at Train Your Pup. You have helped us to help Grover enjoy being the cute little dog he is and giving him a chance at enjoying life.

I am so thankful that I found Train Your Pup. We have used TYP for boarding, board and train, grooming and daycare. We noticed a dramatic improvement in our puppy’s behavior after his board and train time at TYP and the included home visits have been so helpful keeping us humans on track for the training. Kylie has been our primary trainer and our dog absolutely loves her, as do we! Kylie does a wonderful job training both Pax (our dog) and us and the change she has helped us creat in has made our lives so much easier. We constantly get compliments on how well behaved our Pax is and I give all the credit to Kylie and the team at TYP. The fact that Pax gets excited every single time we drop him off let’s us know that he is happy and well-cared for while he is there. Be warned, phone communication isn’t this teams strongest point but don’t give up! Your persistence to connect with them will pay off in the end and be well worth it.
