Top Paw K9 Academy

I have a two year old pitbull mix named Dante who has struggles with dog aggression. I have tried a previous trainer in the past but after the first session I left feeling helpless. Today I took Dante to his first one on one training session at Top Paw and I left feeling very confident in Dante and myself. Dejavae was super welcoming and helpful. She made sure every single question I had was answered and is continuing to do so. She addressed Dante’s dog aggression face to face with another dog which I have never seen before and showed me that my dog is capable of being “a good dog”. I’m very excited to see where Dante gets from this experience and I will definitely be bringing him back.

I have been to a few different trainers over the last 15 years or so, for past dogs I have owned and now my current puppy, a 9 month old German Shepherd. Top Paw K9 Academy is absolutely the best and I would recommend them wholeheartedly. I had already been training from day one, and then we started taking our puppy there when he was 5 or 6 months old. I knew I had to stay on top of training from the start to make him a well-behaved, confident, happy dog. I did not realize how big he was going to get, so as he has now hit 100 pounds, I am SO glad he has had so much good training. Jen and John have been instrumental in our training process. They have given us and our dog, Cash, all the best tools to give him the best life going forward. He is probably the most well-behaved dog I have ever owned thanks to their excellent training process, and is only 9 months old. His future is so bright thanks to Top Paw! They not only know how to train a dog well, but the love and care they have for him makes my heart happy. He gets so excited just to go to his play-n-train sessions and see his training friends in class. There is not a staff member I have met there that is not wonderful and caring. Thank you Top Paw!

We took our German Sheperd "ToDo" for the 5 week program. Deja was the main trainer we interacted with and I will have to say that she did a really great job. ToDo had already completed a 2 week training before but still needed some corrections. We are very pleased with the performance and outcome of the training. Deja was very communicative throughout the whole time which is something we really appreciated.

We were struggling to manage our aggressive German Shepherd and enrolled her in this five-week training program. Our puppy’s aggression stemmed from extreme fear, and she had actually been turned away by other trainers twice in the past; she used to bark incessantly.Deja was our primary trainer, and she did a fantastic job throughout the process. She truly understood our puppy and took the time to thoroughly answer even our smallest questions. We even arranged for in-home sessions after she finished the program; she answered questions in a real-world setting and recommended specific dog toys when needed. We were amazed by the depth of her knowledge—she is truly reliable. We can now go for walks with confidence—even on a short leash and without a muzzle—something we had previously given up hope on. Amazing experience working with Jen, Johnathan and the whole Top Paw crew! I sent my mini bernedoodle to the 5 week board and train program for reactivity, trouble walking on a leash and separation anxiety. During the whole 5 weeks I was updated regularly with photos and videos on his progress, had the option to come in for weekly hands on training and copies of all the training materials needed to be successful. My boy has been home for 4 days now and with the help and communication from the team the transition to home has gone near flawlessly. All issues were addressed with the board and train program and I was sent home feeling confident and ready to take over his training. I highly recommend Top Paw K9 Academy to anyone who’s interested in training their dog. I went in with very little knowledge and nervous to leave my dog with strangers but they immediately gained my trust and now we are leaving feeling like we are set up for success and that they will always be around if something comes up that we need help with. Very thankful to have found these guys!
