The Texas Dogfather

Matt reminds me of the “dog whisperer”. I was visiting my son and his family and was fortunate enough to sit in on one of their sessions with him. All of the dogs in the room (4 of them) paid him the utmost attention and respect even though he is very gentle and quiet with them. It was just amazing to me. My dog’s worst problem is pulling very hard when I walk her. He walked her across the street and down the sidewalk with absolutely no pulling! He then showed me how to do it. It’s not instant, I will need to work with her on it, but I now know what to do to correct it. He answered all kinds of questions for us, with extremely insightful answers. He truly understands and loves dogs and I highly recommend him!

Matt is THE BEST dog behavioral trainer!!! The “Dogfather” title is very fitting as he helped transform our anxious and at times aggressive dog into a calm, peaceful dog that we no longer have to worry about with our small children, and he even managed this in a relatively short amount of time! Matt is all about building the relationship with and between one’s dogs, and his kind and respectful approach really works. Our three dogs are even older and they picked up everything very fast with his training all of us. He also had the best energy, he makes you feel at ease and he also is very honest and that’s why it works. We even have changed our parenting for the better as a result. It’s been one of the best purchases we have EVER made, and we understand why he came so highly recommended. He is so worth it, highly, HIGHLY recommend Matt the Dogfather!!!

Matt and team are incredible! We came to Texas Dogfather at the recommendation of a friend who also worked in animal rescue and had a dog that was more than the standard dog trainer could handle. We were in the same boat. Once our fearful foster dog had bonded to us, she wouldn't accept any new people in her life. She couldn't attend adoption events. We were worried she would never be able to find a forever home. A few well-meaning trainers in the area had already donated time to help our foster girl overcome her fear of people but ultimately they weren't comfortable working with her and eventually had the hard talk with us that there wasn't anything more they could do to help her. Cue Matt and team! They loved her before she ever learned to love them back, a rare kindness that nobody else had ever offered Queenie, and I couldn't be more grateful for that. We adopted Queenie officially after her first board and train at TX Dogfather (she'd chosen us and wasn't going to take no for an answer, and Matt & team had given us hope that she could have a good life with us). She's since been back for a second board and train session, and several boarding visits while we were out of town. The team is fearless, incredibly thoughtful and knowledgable, and always, always has her best interest at heart. They've taught us so much about being pet parents as well. I'd done basic training with my other dog, had fostered many dogs, and had been working in animal welfare for some time and thought I was was pretty knowledgable on the subject - but it turns most of what I knew only scratched the surface. I had a lot to learn and still do. The team has made us better parents to our furbabies, helped to grow Queenie's confidence and our confidence in her, and what we've learned has helped us with countless foster animals since. Queenie will always be a special needs girl. She's 100 percent worth the extra effort. She has so much love to give and has come so far on her journey and I'm thankful for the support TX Dogfather has given us to make that happen. We simply couldn't have kept and cared for her (or ever take a vacation again) without the absolutely incredible Texas DogFather team. You all better never go out of business! We need you!!!
