The Spot 4 Dogs

I can’t thank Jake & the Spot4Dogs team enough for their amazing help with my 8-month old husky/terrier mix. She was very skittish, stubborn, and sassy before arriving at their facility. After doing the 3-week off-leash training, she is a completely different dog. She has picked up on all her commands and is still doing amazing. They also made it an easy transition by helping me learn all her new commands. This program is worth the money/investment. My family also took our lab and border collie to them and it has been life changing for the dogs and us as a family.

We took our german/Australian Shepard mix which is very long hair and double coated, and not very people friendly in and the results they had with his grooming were nothing short of AMAZING. other groomers have never been able to get all his nails trimmed at one time and none have ever been able to brush his teeth. They did it all and Smokey actually seemed to enjoy his visit. Will never use anyone else. This place is amazing. Would gove 100 star 🌟 if possible his coat was sleek and shinny and felt like silk.

I recently tried bringing in my 2 year old Labrador to this facility for daycare, as a disclaimer we have been working through socialization and behavior management because she had a pretty rough start in her most pivotal puppy stages so issues like barrier frustration that leads to barking is very common with her. I would have completely understood if this was reason to not allow her to attend, I typically would not bring my dogs to daycare anyway as they are not healthy environments for dogs and I was nervous about relapses in the the improvement we have had but we had an emergency situation and absolutely needed to schedule one of my 2 dogs, the other is a 12 year old with bad back legs, to get in quickly. When we arrived the receptionist was very nice and was told it would take about 10 minutes. I filled out 3 questions on the forms before my dog came back, it not having even been longer than a minute and was told “She is not tough enough” by the man bringing the dogs back. When I went back to the car my fiancé told me he saw the group of dogs run and bark at the door during the same time my dog was going back, so I’m assuming this facility allows dogs to mob the door when new dogs are coming in, no wonder she was fearful, no one would want to walk into a group of strangers being extremely loud and pushy. And I don’t appreciate that being seen as “not tough enough”. I would have liked to have known more about the behaviors she was presenting to make the employee feel this way so I could address this in her training as well. This situation is not set up for the success of any dog. I was asked if I wanted to try my other dog, but when I asked if they separated by weight or age I was told no so I declined for fear for her safety. After having worked at a doggie daycare in the past, we would separate dogs into different yards by weight AND age, I’m honestly shocked to find that this not an industry standard. We also used a slow introduction method of putting the group of dogs in crates/kennels or a separate yard and introducing the new dog coming in to one dog at a time to allow for a less fearful and dramatic introduction. I highly suggest this facility looking at the benefits of these methods. Update to owners response: Like I said in my review, I was NOT told what behaviors she was displaying during introductions so I had absolutely no way of knowing other than a rude “she wasn’t tough enough” comment. I have no qualms with your facility telling me she cannot attend because I had no idea what her reaction would be, it would have just been nice to be told exactly what happened and why. My review is strictly that I do not believe you have a good practice with your daycare. I also had called ahead of time and had mentioned she’s never been in daycare and could be pushy while playing and may not do well AND I mentioned at reception that she can have barrier frustration and neither time was a slow introduction mentioned.
