BE AWARE: our dog passed away while being boarded with this company. Within a little over 24 hours of being in their care, one of our dogs was left outside in the Florida heat in August and later died from heat‑related complications. The individual caring for our dog repeatedly told us “these things happen” and “we are not liable if these things happen.” We paid over $2,000 for everything that happened. We were told we would receive a $1,000 refund, but since our dog’s passing, we have not received any refund, any explanation, or any communication. No condolences, no follow‑up, nothing. All messages, emails, and texts have gone unanswered. This has been heartbreaking for our family. We had to come home and tell our children that only one of their dogs was coming back. We are sharing our experience so other families are aware of what happened and can make informed decisions.

We highly recommend K9 training. Little dogs need training too and they trained our Boston Terrier that was out of control. They did the impossible and the results really make a big difference in our day-to-day lives. They have exceptional customer service, are knowledgeable, patient, and clearly care about helping both dogs and owners succeed. The best part was that they not only trained our dog but also taught us how to continue the training and maintain discipline at home to create a lasting healthy relationship with our dog. We loved their method and results so much we now board our dog with their team when we go on vacation. I recommend them to anyone, and frankly can’t imagine not training my dogs going forward.

I waited a while to write this review. My pup finished her training here months ago, almost a year. These trainers are GOATED!! I went to another “force free” trainer before here and my Cane Corso chose when to listen and that usually meant any situation I NEEDED her to listen in, she wouldn’t. My house was chaos with her trying to chase the cat constantly to play and me not having control over her and this was AFTER already working with another trainer. I wanted to address some reviews I’ve seen here and relay my experience. When I first got my pup you could see she was a bit timid and “off” but you have to realize what she just went through. She got dropped off (in her eyes abandoned forever I imagine) and then was put to work. She essentially went to boot camp. With that said, within 1-2 weeks she was right back to the same dog that we sent her back as BUTTTTT she actually listens, and listens EXTREMELY well. When outside and given the free command she turns into that crazy playful pup she was before but she knows when to turn it off. They also increased her confidence a lot. Cane Corsos are naturally really timid when pups but I believe they helped break that & build her confidence. I strictly stuck to what they said to do when you go home and man I am beyond impressed. They told me what I would get from the training but honestly I think I got a lot more from them. I take her out in public everywhere with me and she does amazing. Other dogs barking at her, people ALL over and she just focuses on me and what we’re doing with no reaction. I even “trained” her on escalators, I say train loosely because the confidence she got is what helped her conquer that on her first try! I’ve been nothing but impressed with her level of training and what I’ve gotten from this. I did have an issue with her heel in certain situations when I first got back home. I reached out to them & IMMEDIATELY they told me “bring her back, no charge” but they gave me a couple tips over the phone to try before. I implemented those tips & it INSTANTLY corrected the issue and all is good. This just speaks to how they stand behind their life time warranty though. They were ready to set up everything to get it corrected without hesitation and that spoke volume to me. I also wanted to touch base on the owners & workers there. They are great, honest, and respectable people. They tell you straight up how it is without beating around the bush and some people can’t handle that. Some people struggle knowing why their dog is behaving poorly is because of their own actions or lack there of and these people will tell you the issue. They told me everything I was doing wrong and I listened, accepted it and changed it. Put your pride aside and open your mind. They know what they’re doing. Now, the only thing I wish they would approve is I would like to see them more active on giving updates or just sending some pics or videos. Anytime I wanted an update I had to reach out and I felt like I was really left in the dark on her progress and how she was doing. They say updates will be on instagram but my pup was there for like 6 weeks and they only posted her like 3 times and that was towards the end. They told me one day that she still had a lot of work & wouldn’t be ready for pick up that week, then 2 days later I got notified she was ready. I think this is an easy fix and minuscule in the process as I’d rather have a dog trained well than sub par training with great updates, but I wish this was better. I would recommend these people over anyone for sure & plan on coming back for protection training.

We cannot say enough good things about K9 Training Academy and Richard. Our dog, Beignet, had a very rough start to her life, and when my partner and I rescued her, we were honestly overwhelmed. She refused to use the bathroom outside, had severe anxiety whenever we left the house, and our days were filled with constant accidents and stress. We were close to giving up hope. Then we found Richard and K9 Training Academy and it truly changed everything. Beignet is a completely new dog. She is now fully potty trained, calm and confident, and can even walk without a leash. The anxiety that once controlled her is gone, and we finally feel like we can enjoy life with our dog instead of constantly worrying. Richard’s knowledge, patience, and dedication are unmatched. He didn’t just train our dog, he gave us our peace of mind back. If you’re struggling with your dog and feel like you’ve tried everything, K9 Training Academy is absolutely worth it. We are beyond grateful.
