The Hyper Pup Dog Training

Our 2 1/2 year old Bernedoodle was very restless and constantly searching for trouble in our home, he had leash pulling tendencies, and over excitement when greeting people. We entrusted Armando with our dog for a 3 week board and train. We now know how to manage our dog’s behavior, walk with him being attentive and not pulling, and a recent trip to the vet proved life can be a lot less chaotic and much more peaceful with a well trained pup! I found Armando in October 2025 after nearly a year with our beloved doodle. Post-Halloween, things had escalated and I realized we were dealing with a highly anxious dog who was afraid of most things. What I once pictured—off-leash reliability, easy obedience, fetching in a field—had shifted to simply trying to reset our poor boy, who could become unhinged if one of us even stepped outside to take out the garbage. Hawthorne (“Howie”) follows me everywhere (bathroom, car, closet, shower) and yelps for attention or when he thinks I’m leaving. Walks became increasingly difficult: he’s more fearful around other dogs and can be inconsistent—sometimes lunging (to protect me, I think), other times ignoring distractions and rushing home for a cookie. He’s also a particular eater, often pushing his bowl around and refusing to eat alone in the kitchen. All that said, he’s incredibly loving and affectionate, aims to please, loves to play, loves the car (even if he still cries), and is truly the cutest, handsomest boy. I called Armando after finding him online, and he got back to me immediately—responsive from the start. His website aligned perfectly with the structured training I knew we wanted. On our first call, he listened for 30–45 minutes as I walked through our routine and what wasn’t working. Instead of “selling,” he gave me practical tools to start using that same day. I could tell his focused approach was exactly what Howie—and frankly, what my husband Chris and I—needed. We set up a meet-and-greet so he could assess Howie and we could review options. What struck me right away was the silence: Armando said there were several dogs there; we could even see some crates shaking, but there was no barking. That alone told me we were in the right place. Armando took Howie, re-leashed him, and while Howie initially yelped and looked to us to “rescue” him, watching Armando work was fascinating—quiet, effortless control. Within minutes Howie settled, started taking treats, and we knew we wanted to move forward. We chose board-and-train for three reasons: (1) Howie craves affection, and we thought in-and-out sessions would confuse him and be less effective (we also both work full time); we wanted one consistent point of contact. (2) We have an eight-year-old, and we wanted Howie to have the best chance for success in a distraction-free environment. (3) Armando had an opening, and we took it. Howie was there from 12/27–1/18 and it was the best money we’ve spent. Armando sent video updates (after the first week), and at the end provided a thorough recap video with specific instructions, plus additional videos embedded with commentary. Howie has been home 3–4 days and Armando’s support hasn’t stopped—more videos, check-ins, texts, tools, and ongoing offers to help. Armando is a complete professional, his facility is clean, and Howie came home happy and well-adjusted. He’s calmer, more well-mannered, more respectful, and listens to cues. It’s less about “tricks” and more about understanding boundaries—something Howie is finally starting to do. He’s still himself (a one-year-old puppy proudly bringing his toy), but he’s no longer aggressively pawing at me and barking obnoxiously to throw it. We’ll absolutely keep working with Armando and opting into his content because it works. We can’t recommend him enough for saving our sanity and improving our family dynamic—and we think Howie misses him.

We brought Ruby in for private lessons with Armando. We had just moved to the area and we were struggling to manage Ruby’s reactivity toward dogs and people living in a more densely populated community. On top of the reactivity we were dealing with a dog that was a major puller and did not listen to us outside the house. Now we are able to walk Ruby multiple times per day without feeling like our hands are being crushed from the pulling. She is able to experience more freedom and overall have more fun with us. If you were to tell us months ago that we would accomplish so much in such a short period of time we would have never believed it. One of the most comforting parts of this experience was how flexible Armando was with Ruby. She tends to be a sensitive girl and when certain parts of the training weren’t working for her, he opened up an alternative training path suited to her as an individual. Not just one size training fits all. We cannot thank Armando enough for helping us.

We had such a great experience with Armando! He really listened to our concerns and didn’t try to oversell us — in fact, he was honest in saying we only needed two sessions. During our time together, he gave us plenty of helpful pointers for other small issues we hadn’t even mentioned, and he went above and beyond by meeting us in a real-world setting to show us how to handle our dog’s reactivity. Our rescue dog has fear that is preventing her from bonding with our family. Armando has provided us with insight about her behavior and our actions that are blocking our way to a better connection.
