The Hub by Pack Animals

The Hub is truly one of a kind. It brings together incredible trainers, behaviorists, vets, and specialists in a well-organized space. They assess each dog and offer thoughtful recommendations. Both the classes and private sessions are incredibly effective, and their innovative app makes it easy to track progress. I’ve been a client since they opened and happily make the 1-hour, 40-minute trip because it’s so worth it. My dogs and I not only learn so much, but we also have fun in every session. The progress we’ve made is amazing, and I now have the tools to help them handle stress and live happier, healthier lives. I can’t recommend The Hub enough!

We joined when my dog was about 2.5 years old & have been attending usually Friday, Saturday, & Sunday for the last 3 months. Since our drive can be anywhere from 1 to 2 hours, we try to take as many classes as we can & we double our training to about 8-9 classes/play a week. We love the variety of classes we can get in 1 place. I also like how Andrea tailors class based on each dog’s ability & Andrea is clear about telling us what each dog should be focused on improving. I have been trying to teach our dog neutralization since she was a puppy & it has taken almost 3 years to get her 80% there. Another one of our favorite classes is restaurant simulation. Luckily we were able to take a couple to get us ready for the community events we had to celebrate Thanksgiving & the holidays. I have noticed by being consistent & structured, our dog has had incremental improvement. Taking our dog to daycare used to be a challenge when she returned to us. The last two times she came back into class she was much more focused. We have taken many classes on conditioning & we even have a physical therapist & a chiropractor. Even though we are pretty structured in exercise routine, it is helpful to work on other aspects of strength training. The community is pretty awesome as I haven’t seen such a dedicated & connected group. Healthy play was a good class for us since our dog gives very subtle warning signs that she is not comfortable. In healthy play we are watching other dogs, but I did learn a lot about my dog in the playgroup. I have been taking our dog to play groups since she was 12 weeks. For almost 2 years she went regularly 1-2 times every week. In our first play group, our dog showed teeth which can be hard to see in a 10lb dog that is so close to the ground. I had never heard her snarl except with her biological sister. In other play groups I was used to giving her a timeouts when she got too rowdy, but now we can redirect her until she is ready to go back in & play. We have attended a couple Engagement Superset classes which is good if you need to get in the reps to improve a skill, but for us it was more of a mental class of teaching our dog a pattern & changing it so she wouldn’t anticipate the pattern. Jump-Free Greetings has really helped us a lot as our dog is quicker about getting all four paws on the ground. Greetings are rarely as drawn out as they used to be. I never knew we needed Tackling Separation Anxiety until I saw the slides of what anxiety could be. Our dog is generally ok in the home, but not when left in the car. Even if you don’t have a dog, the community events could be a good time to come in & be surrounded by some amazing dogs. There is Game Night & Movie Night, but I haven’t attended since we spend close to 4 hours a day at The Hub. I often pick up lunch in between classes & come back so my dog can roam around safely while I eat. We do practice her place skills while I eat, but it is nice that she has the option to roam around. As a first time dog owner, it is nice being around people who truly love their dogs & want to keep our dogs happy & healthy. This may be the only dog I own, so I try to learn as much as I can. In 2025 we have a lot more body awareness to teach our dog to get her ready for post surgery rehab & having spent the last 3+ months working on so many different skills helps her to have focus on what she is being asked to do. The schedule is always evolving so if there is a topic you need work on & it is not being addressed there could be a class coming soon. The biggest challenge we come across at other training places is the schedule stays the same for 3 months or even a year which is why we often have to change places to train. If you are on the fence, I suggest giving The Hub a try. I was curious when I saw that a rescue group we had been following had an event at The Hub. Joining was probably one of the best things I could have done for our dog’s training. I never thought 3 months of training would level up all the training we had been doing for the last 2.5 years.

The Hub is a wonderful place for dogs and their guardians to come together, socialize, and learn new skills. They focus on positive reinforcement practices and partner with other fear-free and positive reinforcement animal service businesses. They are an incredible resource for any dog guardian looking to build better relationships with their companion. Puppies, reactive, fearful or shy, and anxious dogs could especially benefit from the positive approach practiced at the Hub. You can practically see dogs exhale with relief once better communication practices are established. The Hub can also provide a great outlet for mental and physical energy when walks or exercise are not accessible. My dog Kona was very anxious about fireworks this summer, so we couldn't go on walks in the evening. Discovering the Hub was a great relief because it provided an alternative to walks. I highly recommend it to anyone with a dog or considering getting one! And even if you don't have a dog yet but are just looking for a coworking space where you can have access to some awesome dogs, come to the Hub =)

We are so grateful for The Hub and their owners, Chris and Andrea! My dog and I look forward to every group class, event and training session! We have learned so much and made so many new friends in the short time we’ve been members and it’s become a place where we can also go just to hang out and relax. The space is beautiful, immaculate and peaceful, while still being fun and engaging. They are located in the City Center, Bishop Ranch, and are surrounded by lots of shopping and great restaurants with plenty of parking. I would highly recommend The Hub to anyone wanting to learn, grow and have a great time with their dog!

The Hub is an amazing and unique space for dogs and humans to learn, play and grow together! Andrea and Chris and their sweet dog Maggie are truly special. They exude kindness, compassion and love for all dogs and humans and also bring a high level of science based knowledge to everything they do. Ralphie and I try to go at least twice a week to take advantage of all the great group classes and participate in the expert seminars either in person or by zoom. Our favorite class is a strength training class. Who knew that dogs could benefit from strength training? I never thought of it before the Hub but it makes total sense. I do strength training classes at the gym. Why not Ralphie? After taking these classes about 1x/week for the past few months Andrea and I have both noticed improvements in his sitting posture, lateral weight shifting and head turning while standing and sitting on uneven surfaces. They also have fun game nights, had a Dog Olympics event that was super fun and looking forward to their Halloween event! The Hub is also a co-existing workspace for you and your dog. My job does not lend itself to working from home but I use the space to work on small projects or even grab some takeout and eat there before or after classes. Hub members have access to discounts at Bamboo Sushi (delicious) and George (dog treats, food and accessories) which is very convenient. This center is a must for any dog owner who would like to teach their dog not only all the foundational skills based on positive reinforcement but advanced skills as well. Ralphie is a therapy dog and is already well trained but we both learn new skills every time we enter the center! Andrea is currently helping me to teach Ralphie to skateboard. He quickly went from putting two front paws perpendicular on the board to now placing three paws adjacent on the board. I am confident that she will have him skateboarding around the room soon! Another awesome bonus has been meeting other like-minded dog owners and their adorable pups ❤️
