The Grove: Gun Dogs and Obedience

Had a great experience with The Grove. Our 1 year old golden retriever, Tucker, had a blast during his 4 week off-leash obedience training. From our initial inquiry, Will was an absolute pleasure to work with. Very knowledgable, patient, and thorough. Will explained everything that would be expected, gave us updates throughout Tucker's stay, and spent hours with us at pick up going over what Tucker had learned and how to make sure the transition home went smoothly. Will also took the time to answer questions we had even after Tucker had been home for a few weeks. We had no hesitation leaving Tucker at the Grove and would do it again in a heartbeat. The training exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled with Tucker's behavior. Couldn't have been more impressed with the entire experience! Highly recommended.

We took our 9 month old lab, Jet, to The Grove for retriever training . We picked him up yesterday and we were very impressed with his new skills. From the start, we had great communication. Jet developed a minor eye irritation while there and Will saw to it that vet took care of him. We received photos/video clips showing us his training and that he was happy “ away from us”. Will made it clear we could spent as much time as we needed with him to learn the verbal and whistle commands Jet had been taught . He was very thorough on explaining our dog’s training nature and why/how he performed what he’d been taught . You can tell he truly cares about the animals and just like a child, the react differently to correction. After going over those commands , we moved on into the field for the retrieval show . They had set up the blinds and equipment and proceeded to fire the dummies which Jet would blind retrieve . He held steady and you could tell , really enjoy doing what labs do best - retrieve hard & fast. When we left, we were given the daily progress schedule as he’d been trained . We were entirely happy with The Grove ! The kennel and facility is neat and clean . When the weather was extremely cold , the dogs were all kenneled inside. We were worried due to the fact Jet had always slept inside , even though he’s an outdoorsy dog. Never once were we worried about him !

I had SUCH a great experience with The Grove and the Off Leash Obedience Program for my 2 year old Lab, Hank. Hank ran the show at our house. He barked at everything, jumped on the bed, dragged us around on the leash. I couldn’t have him out when company came over because he would bulldoze them. I really didn’t have incredibly high expectations for my sweet, stubborn dog, but man, I was (and still am) blown away by Will’s ability to train dogs. My friends and family can’t believe we have the same dog. He follows commands instantly. We can take him out without a leash. I can take him around other dogs or strangers and not worry about him causing problems. It truly is night and day. The price of the program is also very affordable. I’ve been aware of Hank’s behavior issues for quite some time now and have gotten pricing from many places. The programs at The Grove are definitely the best value of anything I’ve seen. I would have gladly paid 2 or 3 times the price had I known how great the results would be. I work from home so Hank and I spend a lot of time together, and my life has drastically improved thanks to Will training not just Hank but also me. I highly, highly recommend this program for young or old dogs. Will knows what he’s doing.
