FirstBarkOur puppy Agnis went to day school with Morgan for 14 sessions. She learned many basic skills but most importantly Morgan spent time with us on how to continue working with Agnis at home. Agnis is a small dog and Morgan always made sure she was safe around the larger dogs. I highly recommend Morgan at The Dog Wizards as a trainer. Agnis was always excited to see her!

We cannot recommend Dog Wizard enough! Our 15 month old standard Bernedoodle, Scheff, completed the 21-day Jump Start program with Mica as his trainer. We can genuinely say he is a different dog, and in the best way possible. Scheff has all of his good traits but without the annoying ones now. I would like to say though that it requires a commitment and willingness to make changes as an owner. We had to change our behavior in order to get better behavior from him. Jon walked us through the free eval and was able to answer all of our questions and explain what they do and what to expect. Making the decision to do the program was not easy because it was a big commitment, so I'll go into some details to help someone who may be trying to make that same decision for their dog and family. Scheff was a very fun-loving and sweet dog but kind of did whatever he wanted. He counter-surfed every chance he got, pulled on his leash while walking, ate a million socks, destroyed pillows and blankets, and jumped on people when greeting them. He was basically a toddler in the house, which he was age-wise, but we knew we did not want to wait to see if these behaviors would die down on their own. We have three kids ages 7-12 and knew we needed him to be removed from our home so that he could have undistracted training where he was NEVER in charge (our kids would untrain him every chance they got, haha). And that's exactly what he got. He spent three weeks with Mica where he was taught and expected to be a better dog and had far more boundaries and less freedom, which he also needed. She was the best trainer for him! He came home responding immediately to "come", respecting "leave it", knowing "place" sooo well which has been life changing, and even though he always liked sleeping in his crate, he would bark and whine if he was in there while we were home. The other day a repairmen came to fix the dishwasher so I put him in his crate and he was chill. He walks better on leash, I can leave a blanket out without him ruining it, and he thinks before he acts. It's not that he never tests boundaries, but we know how to handle it now and he knows expectations. Mica was so helpful during the take-home lesson and came out to our house for the follow-up and worked with us on a few things in our home environment. For anyone on the fence, if you are willing to put in the work after your dog comes home, the Jump-Start Program is well worth your time and money. It's exactly what Scheff and our family needed. He learned so much while he was there and then we were able to take that foundation and build off of it. We are enjoying our dog so much more, thank you Mica and Dog Wizard!

The training went far beyond basic commands — they worked on my dog’s behavior and confidence, and just as importantly, taught me how to be confident and consistent so the progress would last. They even went above and beyond by assisting me at a vet appointment to help my dog stay calm and comfortable, correcting issues before they could escalate.
