The Dog Wizard Medina

Miss Maple Mae's first day home after a month long board and train! She is doing awesome, staying in place while I cooked lunch. Also she was absolutely perfect when we stopped at Cabela's (which was a zoo due to the Easter Bunny being there for a photo shoot). I can't thank The Dog Wizard Medina team enough for the amazing job they did. She still has a lot of energy but at least now it can be controlled. Thank you so much for a job well done, we can't wait for the first group training day. I know it's in their logo but I still claim magic is involved!! Lol

My daughter’s dog, Allister just finished his 2-week “jump start” board and train program with Megan, and the difference is profound! He is a two year old bully mix…head strong and stubborn. While going through all that he learned, and what we needed to know when we picked him up this morning, his improvement was beyond our expectation. He no longer bolts for a door, heals when being walked, stays in place when commanded, comes to command when off leash, etc.!I have never had a dog professionally trained before, but it was well worth it. Another concern when I dropped him off was how he might be treated, and if he would feel abandoned was totally unfounded. If anything, he seemed thrilled to be with his trainer Megan, and listened equally well to our commands. I can’t recommend The Dog Wizzard, Medina, and his trainer Megan more highly.

My husband and I adopted our Aussie Chili about a year ago. He is a sweet guy but we were struggling with helping him cope with his separation anxiety. Every time we left our home he would break out of his crate, hurting himself, and destroy something in our home...couch, rugs, plants, glassware etc. He eventually had to get surgery for eating a string of lights and we knew we had to do something...in comes the Dog Wizard. We sent Chili for a two week board and train program with the Medina Dog Wizard. They helped Chili focus his nervous energy as well as learn proper walking techniques and basic commands. At the end of his program we had a session to help us learn how to continue to work with and train Chili. We continue to train him daily and his anxiety has reduced exponentially. When we leave our home now he happily goes to his crate and doesn't even attempt to break out! Our peace of mind for Chili's safety and our home was worth EVERY PENNY! Gabby did a phenomenal job and we are so grateful to Medina Dog Wizard!

We recently adopted a dog from the APL who had been there over a year. She had been recovered from a neglectful home where she was found starving and emaciated. She was very fearful around people and dogs, barking and posturing to keep any threats at a safe distance. As a result, no one could get to know her, and she was passed over time and again. We knew we could be patient, so we visited her quite a few times. We discovered in those visits a sweet dog with a kind soul. We eventually adopted her hoping a loving home would help her heal. Unfortunately, we didn't know how to provide her with the training and structure that she needed to flourish. We couldn't take her anywhere with people or animals - no walks or car rides, and certainly no visitors to the house. Everything and everyone was a threat. It was quite isolating and stressful. That's when we found The Dog Wizard. The Dog Wizard employs a positive reinforcement philosophy, something we felt was critical for our rescue. After an informative phone consultation, we enrolled her in their two week program. She spent two full weeks with them in their facility in Medina. We received updates and followed her progress on a private group on Facebook. We got to see photosand videos of her training. The first time we saw a video of our dog going for a leashed walk INSIDE of Home Depot, we were shocked! We saw how she played with other dogs, followed commands and listened. Following the two week stay, Gabby took 90 minutes to train us on how to reinforce the lessons she had learned. For graduates, they also offer meet-ups every other Saturday for graduates to come together for walks in parks and training review, which has been very helpful. Our dog is thriving since coming home. We are still a work in progress, but the improvements in her are extraordinary. She listens when we give her commands (which we still practice each day) and we are able to take her on walks in our neighborhood. We highly recommend The Dog Wizard to anyone hoping for better outcomes with their dogs!

Adopted a rescue “dobeagle” and he came with a little bit of baggage. Long story short, we didn’t recognize how anxiety ridden he was until things got way out of hand for us. He had severely bitten my husband twice and we needed help. In our quest for that help we were met with a lot of “oh I wouldn’t keep that dog” without even meeting our sweet boy first. I was becoming more and more discouraged and desperate with every phone call to local trainers in my area. I don’t even remember how I found The Dog Wizard. I do remember thinking the name was a little silly but I soon found out they aptly named their facility. They really do work some magic for their clients! I was very nervous and had a lot of questions and with every answer they made me feel like we had a chance. I came to view the facility and they met my boy Norm and looked to me and said “he’s not broken”. They were the first to say something like that. We enrolled Norm in the 2 week board and train. During that time we didn’t hear very much at first. Norm had a lot of anxiety and I’m sure it took a lot to get him just used to the place and the people and dogs in it. Once he started making strides, though, we got a lot of videos of him looking calm while doing his lessons and even playing with another dog! Since he has been home, we have made some adjustments to our schedule and structure and he has been a model citizen. He even plays with the neighbor dogs and doesn’t mind children in the house! When we enrolled Norm our complaints were: Nervous/anxious Resource guarding Dog reactivity Biting When we got him back we had none of those complaints. We have had him home from The Dog Wizard for about a year now and he has done nothing but get better. If you are having any trouble with your pet, put your trust in this group. They were a Godsend and I can’t put into words how grateful I am to have found them.
