Riley and Megan worked absolute wonders with my pup, Goose, and me! After completing the 8-week private Freedom Program, we now feel confident in public places and off-leash situations. I had the pleasure of working with Riley at The Dog Wizard and I couldn't be more grateful for her dedication and commitment to Leia. Riley was able to train Leia and address our main concerns with leash walking and high prey drive. Prior to working with Riley, I had refused to walk Leia after she had dragged me across the street, causing major road rash to my right shin while she was on the chase of a squirrel. But thanks to Riley's expertise, Leia can now walk off leash right beside me without any issues. Riley's training methods and guidance have truly transformed Leia. I rescued my 2-year-old German Shepherd, Harry, in January and had been struggling to manage not only his anxiety and reactivity but also his size and strength. I felt guilty that he wasn’t getting enough exercise and mental stimulation because of my busy schedule and, honestly, my inability to handle him correctly. After researching for months, I finally had time to devote to his training, so I filled out a form online and Bri called me the next morning. From the moment I consulted with Bri on the phone, I knew I was at the right place. She talked me through all of the programs offered, and I decided the 15-day group training program would be the best fit for Harry. The owner/trainer, Romario, possesses an exceptional blend of experience, patience, and knowledge that completely transformed not only my dog’s behavior but our entire bond. He provided individualized training tailored to Harry’s specific needs, and the results have been nothing short of life-changing. Harry is finally able to relax at home instead of following me around everywhere, he no longer jumps on me, he is able to calmly ride in the car, his leash and dog reactivity has dramatically decreased, he’s able to be calm in public, and he respects my commands to “off”. He has also found his crate to be a safe space that he can go to if needed. What sets Ro apart is his genuine kindness towards both the dogs and their owners. I’ve never met a more patient trainer who truly cares about the success of his clients. His expertise in canine behavior is vast, and his ability to teach not just the dogs but also their owners is remarkable. Ro and Fred (Harry’s other trainer) always took the time to explain each step of the training process, ensuring I felt comfortable continuing the work on my own. I never felt rushed; every question I had was answered, and constructive feedback was given. Most importantly, they celebrated the smallest victories and provided confidence-building support whenever I felt frustrated, which kept both of us motivated. I am incredibly grateful for the positive impact Ro and his team have had on both Harry’s and my life. Our dog and ourselves benefited greatly by attending the foundation class at The Dog Wizard. I was unable to walk her due to her pulling, but with the help of the trainers, we can now walk her with the most comfort I’ve ever walked a dog! Miranda was our main trainer, and she was so knowledgeable and helpful!! We also had input from Jess and Cullen who are wonderful trainers as well! We’ve worked on Koda’s state of mind since she’s a very excitable girl. She was somewhat reactive with other dogs, and we’ve alleviated that problem! She’s a joy to take to restaurant and brewery patios that allow dogs! And we have a support class we can attend as often as we’d like which is also a lot of fun! So glad we found The Dog Wizard!
