The Dog Wizard Cincinnati

I have had an excellent experience with Dog Wizard and highly recommend their services. My trainer David, was knowledgeable and helpful! I brought Jolene in for anxiety and reactivity issues, and the progress she has made is incredible. David took the time to understand her behavior and has helped me to learn how to help her and to continue her training at home! Jolene is now calmer, and more confident on walks. The training has noticeably helped in her quality of life!

We recently took our 1 yr old German shepherd (Gunner) and our 3 yr old lab (Farmer) to The Dog Wizard for the 21 day board and train. Our main issue with our fur-babies was aggression towards one another, that we have now learned was resource aggression, but they also needed to learn obedience and basic commands. David is our trainer and he is absolutely amazing. I don’t even know where to start. From day one, David was communicating with my husband and I consistently, sending us videos so that we could see what they worked on throughout the day. As nervous, protective parents this helped put our minds at ease that our babies were in great hands. I loved receiving the videos and getting to watch the progress being made. David is incredibly knowledgeable, extremely patient and cares for our babies as they are his own. He took them out into the community so they could socialize in different types of environments. He took Farmer to the vet a couple times as well due to his ear infection and kept me updated on any health changes with his ears. I would a million times over recommend The Dog Wizard and especially David. They work so hard and we are forever grateful for the experience. Also, the lifetime training that comes with the package is amazing so you won’t feel alone after your babies come back home. If you need them again then just call them or go to the group support classes that they offer. My husband and I have found a lifelong friend and trainer in David. Thank you for everything! Our family would highly recommend utilizing the Dog Wizard. We got Ollie our 5 year old aussie doodle during covid. Like everyone, he was stuck at home with no visitors. So when people started coming over to our house he became very anxious. When our other dog passed last year, it got worse. Some suggested medicine, but I am a pharmacist and I believe in behavioral interventions before medicine! I saw the dog wizard advertised and recalled that our family member took their well-behaved australian shepherd there a few years back. I made the call and brought Ollie in for a free eval that went very well. The evaluator shared options. A few weeks later I dropped Ollie off to trainer Katie Wedgeworth. I packed his bag with food and paperwork. Katie shared with me what would happen over the next 2 weeks. Truth be told, I was sad dropping him off as he has only ever been with us or with a family member. Katie did a wonderful job of texting almost every day information about Ollie. We were able to see posts on the member only FB page with videos of our Ollie. Midpoint she brought him home for a visit and we saw what he was learning and she could see him in his environment. When he graduated, she brought hm home and spent a considerable amount of time going over all the training. Its been about a month since he has been home. His anxiety has decreased, he is doing fabulous on his sit in place no matter where we go and he is even getting fairly good at off leash recall. He had a blast running around untethered in our large yard during our easter egg hunt this year. Last weekend we took him to a tulip trail and everyone remarked at what a wonderfully behaved dog we have! The nice thing is that the training does not end after graduation. Katie made a couple of follow up meetings and is always available via phone. The company also host free training sessions on various weekends for graduates only throughout the year. We have been to 3 so far and each one has been different but lots of fun and educational for Ollie and our family. In summary, Ollie and our family have benefited from The Dog Wizard and Katie is not just a wonderful trainer but a very nice person as well!
