The Dog Trainer

Sending our dog to the 3-week behavior modification board & train program with Chris was hands down the best thing we ever did for him! Our high-drive Boston Terrier started showing signs of aggression issues around the time he turned 1, and we were desperate for help. We live on a street with high foot traffic and it got to the point where we couldn't make it down the block without our dog barking or lunging at people and other dogs. Throughout our dog's stay, Chris was incredibly communicative and kept us updated on his progress. At the end of our dog's training, Chris came to our house and taught us everything our dog learned during his stay, let us practice his new commands, and reviewed a detailed take-home lesson plan to follow. The tools and knowledge that Chris gave us were invaluable, not only in regaining our dog's focus and obedience, but in improving our relationship with our dog. Looking back, it's clear that we let our dog run the house, make the rules, and "be the judge" of all situations he deemed scary or uncomfortable - and as a result, he was on high alert all the time. Now he looks to us for answers and leadership and is finally able to just relax! We've had him back for a few months and are blown away by what our dog is capable of with the right boundaries, training, and leadership. He is the same dog in all the ways we loved, and changed for the better in the ways we didn't. Regarding Chris: he is calm, communicative, and knowledgeable, and his facility is large, clean, and all the dogs were well cared for. We can't thank him enough!

My husband and I highly recommend The Dog Trainer (Chris) for training. We have a 1.5 year old german shepherd that needed basic training and manners along with aggression issues towards other dogs and anxiety. We called him up, toured the facility and had him meet our girl! We did the 3 week training program and got her back around Christmas and she's like a new dog! We no longer have to medicate her for her anxiety, she knows when it is time to calm down and is much more relaxed in general. She now knows that she is not dominate over us. She has manners in the house and does not jump up on the counters anymore or get in the trash. She listens to her commands. But the BEST thing he did for her was teach her how to be around other dogs and how to pick up on their social cues. She can now be around other dogs without lunging and barking with her hackles up and teeth showing. When she's around another dog and does not know what to do she looks to us for the answers and that is the best thing! We love our girl and everything Chris did for her!! He is so patient with dogs when most people wouldn't be and we just can not thank him enough for giving Poppy her self confidence and letting her know that she does not have to be on high alert 24/7. She is much more comfortable in life and that's all that matters!

Chris did the 2-week On-leash training for our 3 year-old Australian Shepherd, and what a difference it made. Our dog is very high-energy, but can now turn that off for both better behavior and focus, and is now much more obedient as well. You can tell how much our dog enjoyed the training, as well as how much he respects Chris, and vice versa. Chris's "Go Home" lesson was very helpful in terms of on-going work for both us and our dog, so that we can get him to be the dog we know he can be. We definitely recommend Chris for anyone interested in dog training.

We rescued 7 months old Japanese Spitz boy from Korea in Feb. This breed is very protective and affectionate yet people get overwhelmed by their personalities. I knew what I was dealing with. However, When I had to take 3 weeks vacation to visit families in overseas, I could not find a sitter for him. Two sitters turned him down after they witnessed his personality. (excitement turns to aggression towards to a dog and a person) Japanese Spitz are small breed. They are very friendly (too friendly most of times) yet too hyperactive. Things can go wrong in a split second. I needed a help desperately. I found Chris’ info in google and called him up. Long story short, Chris saved my life. After I put Bolt ( yes, his name is Bolt :D ) for 3 weeks in dog boarding school, I thought I shouldn’t expect too much. However, he is now a completely different dog. I won’t have to worry about finding a sitter when I am going somewhere. He is very calm and I do not have to worry about him going crazy around other dogs when we walk. Now he does not even need a leash when we are outside. I am very happy with the result. Thank you Chris again!
