The Dog Trainer

Chris was recommended to me by a friend. We have a very sweet but very rambunctious 1.5 yo Golden Retriever who needed to learn some manners and discipline, so we decided to do the 21-day on and off leash training. I checked in via text every couple of days and Chris was very responsive. He was flexible on our drop-off day due to us needing to be out of town, and he was flexible on our pick-up day due to Wrigley needing a couple extra days working on distractions as well as inclement weather. Since we brought Wrigley home, she is still the same sweet girl but much easier to calm and very disciplined when given commands/corrections. Chris has been very responsive on any questions I've had since coming home as well. I can't say enough good things about this experience, very well worth the money!

We used Chris and his company to train our nearly 10 year old Australian Shepherd, Chester, after he was bit by another dog causing all sorts of anxiety and distrust between him and I (he was on leash when it happened). I had my worries about how it would affect a much older dog but Chris was quick to settle my fears and explain to me exactly how the training worked and what it targeted with Chester. He seems to be much less anxious and rarely barks at dogs, never lunges at them, and is amazing on leash! We still work with him daily to reinforce habits and are working on getting him to not bark when people knock at the apartment door and has much improved since before his training. Our almost 2 year old Labradoodle, Rue, just recently went to the two week on-leash obedience program with Chris The Dog Trainer. We have nothing but positive things to say about the entire program. We always thought Rue was a fairly good dog, she is friendly and easy going but she certainly needed help in the obedience department. Rue has been home for a week now and the progress that Chris made with her is absolutely phenomenal. We trust her in situations that we never would have before, and the training program has given her (and us) a lot more freedom which we will be forever thankful for. Chris has been quick to respond to any of our calls & texts before, during, and after the training program which we really appreciated. It was easy to tell that Rue adored him and that he truly cared for her and wanted to see her succeed. At the end of the training program, Chris came to our house and went over (in great detail) all of what he and Rue worked on during the two weeks and explained what we should be doing to continue training at home. We would highly recommend reaching out to The Dog Trainer if you are looking for training and we have already recommended this program to several friends and family members!

We sent our 6-month old puppy to Chris for 3-week on and off leash training and honestly, I don't think I could emphasize enough how wonderful everything was. Hudson, our pup, not only has learned so much and carried that on with our homework over the last few weeks, but she also was incredibly well taken care of throughout the three week process. Chris was consistently available to provide updates and video of her training and of her just having fun. It's always nerve wracking to be away from your pups, but I could not have been more comfortable with Chris taking care of Hudson. In terms of training, she's incredibly well-behaved and does not jump up on people, recalls well even in an area with distractions, and her training didn't subdue that joyful tail wag one bit. Chris was an absolutely joy to work with, trained Hudson beyond what we could ask for and provided us peace of mind throughout the whole process.
