The DOG

I was on the fence about writing this review, but in the end as a dog lover I felt I had to. The DOG has multiple Google and yelp accounts so I am going to post this on all of them. After reading some of the reviews I realized that I am not alone in my opinion and the time (and money) my dog spent here was wasted. My dog went in for a 3 week program. I was promised the world by Joanne the owner, but as a sceptic I asked her straight out "If my dog isn't trained when he returns will you refund my money?" She said in her "30+ years of dog training she never once had a dog she couldn't train, so YES I will refund." I would say that mine was the first, but go read some of the other reviews, many people complaining their dog came back untrained, so add my dog to the list. My dog returned with scars on his body and scabs on his ears. Was it from 3 weeks of outdoor rough dog playing? Perhaps, but he was a puppy and returned not only scarred up, but aggressive and with Giardia, a parasite that caused excessive diarrhea. He returned to us with stains on his butt from the amount of poo he was making. I pointed this out and they told me he had just poo'ed when they left the facility. Hit bit me and my wife on our face during a nap on the sofa, never did that before. We were told that in order to keep him from having accidents in the house he needs to be crated when not supervised. That wasn't what we sent him for. Of course he wont have an accident in the house if he's crated in the mud room, I didnt pay $4000 to crate him for life life a prisoner, I paid to train him to simply go outside to pee and poo. Overall similar experiences with the owner Joanne, very curt and rude, tries to dominate the conversation, talks over you and doesn't want to hear any criticism. I will say one positive thing.. When I complained she remembered the conversation we had and she did issue me a full refund. I didnt even ask for it and she refunded me. Did she cover the $1000 in vet bills for fecal testing, meds and Giardia?..NO. Did it return my sweet puppy to a kind non aggressive dog?..NO. But she did take accountability for the refund and for that I can't completely blast her ethics. As far as a dog trainer, in 3 days I think I could teach my dog more than he learned in 3 weeks and I am not a trainer. Complete waste of time as a training facility and as a boarding facility I expect my dog to return without scarring and disease. I do not recommend The DOG for anything whatsoever and wish I read some of the reviews before sending my sweet boy there.

Sending Arlo to the Dog was the best decision I ever made! Arlo was wild, destructive, didn’t listen He went to the dog for training for 3 weeks…. The entire time they would send me videos photos and updates and since he’s been home I have received lessons so I can keep doing the training at home and it’s been life changing with Arlo He’s doing so good!!!! He’s a different dog in an amazing way He’s behaving and listening to me. I am so happy I found the dog training camp…. They were amazing!!!! Highly recommend!! Photo of my cutie pie! 🥰
