The DOG

We were so lucky to find the DOG ~5yrs ago. Our labradoodle, Rigby, started going to the DOG when she was ~2yrs old and this has changed our life. I actually cannot imagine dog ownership without the DOG's support. Rigby goes to camp 3x per week. I know she loves the DOG because her tail is wagging like crazy when she gets picked up in the morning and she walks right out to the van. She comes back happy and exhausted! We find that Rigby sleeps pretty much ALL DAY on her non-camp days because she is so tired from the exercise. The DOG transformed Rigby from a nervous, scared dog, to a confident, well socialized, happy dog! We love everyone on the staff - drivers, reservationists, trainers...everyone. We are also gold star members and it is worth every penny. Rigby boards at the DOG every time we take a vacation. The gold star program ensures there is always a spot for Rigby to board - it provides fantastic piece of mind. I sleep so well at night knowing Rigby is surrounded by such loving people that she absolutely adores. The DOG is family. Rigby was my first dog so I really relied on Joanne for everything in the early days...and still do. Rigby was frequently sick as a puppy and Joanne has helped us develop a nutrition program that works for Rigby. These are mission-driven people who LOVE LOVE LOVE dogs. Joining the DOG family is a gift everyone should give to their dog(s).

Here's what we love most about Joanne & Trever, and their team at The D.O.G.: they love our dog Rosie, and it shows. In addition to the bringing the big love, they treat Rosie with respect, and dignity, and offer a social and safe environment - from our front door to their just-right facility in Putnam County. Rosie has been with The D.O.G. for boarding and part-time camp just about every week since she joined our family at 9 weeks old. She'll be 8 in April. Just as important as the pet piece, is the professionalism and kindness The D.O.G. team shows to their human clients. In all of our years with them, communication with every member of their staff is always efficient, reliable, and timely. In the barrel-of-monkey's business of doggie daycare, The D.O.G is simply a cut above. Rosie would not be the well-mannered, friendly pup she is today were it not for the lifelong influence of the good folks at The D.O.G. We were lucky to get Rosie and we feel lucky to be a small part of The D.O.G. family.

To have found a home away from home where our dogs run to with tails wagging and barely look back to say “bye” is simply the best feeling! From the ease of making a reservation to the comfort of knowing how happy and well taken care of our two completely opposite personality dogs are is something we feel so lucky we found at the Dog!
