We had an amazing experience with Joe at The Bark Stop! He was incredibly patient with our golden retriever, Grady, and made such a positive impact from the very first session. Grady was already learning new skills and becoming more confident right away. Joe has also taught us so much about how to better understand and listen to our dog. He helped us with walking Grady on the leash, and switching the leash to the front of his harness was a total game changer. What we appreciated most was his use of positive reinforcement throughout the training process. It’s clear he truly cares about the dogs he works with. We were so impressed that we plan to continue Grady’s training with Joe and also bring our 6-year-old Pekingese to him for reactivity training. Joe is an exceptional trainer who provided the wisdom, professionalism, and expertise necessary to help both me and my two dogs. I’ve been really impressed with the progress we’ve seen since working with Joe. During a recent session with our very friendly (and very vocal) Jack Russell, Gus, he gave practical, easy-to-follow guidance that’s already making a difference. He showed me how to better manage Gus’s energy, set clear boundaries like staying off the couch unless invited, and confidently say no while allowing him to settle himself. Since starting training, both of our dogs are noticeably calmer, more confident, and far less reactive. Walks are easier and actually enjoyable now, and their behavior at home has improved so much. I’m really happy with the results and grateful for Joe’s approach.
