It's hard to believe these are the same two little monsters who couldn't walk on a leash a few months ago. We went to Joe at The Bark Stop because we needed help. Two puppies at once is no joke. They couldn't walk on a leash, they went crazy when visitors came to the door, and don't get me started on the potty training. We were in over our heads and we knew it. Joe delivered. Within the first two sessions he had both puppies walking on leashes. From there we started working on sit, come, greeting visitors — all the things that make life with dogs actually enjoyable. But here's what I didn't expect. Joe pushed us out of our comfort zone. He wasn't just training our dogs, he was training us to be better puppy parents. Our favorite part was the field trips. After we got the basics down, Joe took us out to different places to practice with the dogs in real-world situations. We would have never done this on our own. That's the kind of thing that separates a good trainer from a great one. Now here's the part that frustrated us. We bought a 12-week package, and it took nearly 4 months to finish. Joe was upfront about his planned vacation days, but there were several last-minute cancellations. When you're trying to stay consistent with puppy training, that's tough. Here's the bottom line.
