Joanne’s approach to dog training is rational and realistic. Her board and train program is excellent. Our dogs, two Wheaten terriers, came back disciplined, happy and much more agreeable. We learned that we were not giving our dogs as much structure and discipline as they needed and learned what we needed to do to make them, and ourselves, happier. We continue to join Joanne’s weekly training classes at City Park and the dogs are so excited when they see Joanne. It’s a real testament to how much they enjoyed their training. We highly recommend her training.

We were referred to Joanne by a friend who had a very positive experience with the training of her dog. When Joanne came to our home to introduce herself and discuss her training methods, we were immediately struck by her incredible understanding of dogs and dogs psychology and her limitless genuine caring for dogs. Joanne trained our dogs in her home as well as training us how to continue her training. It has made an absolutely wonderful difference in their overall behavior. We continue to participate in Joanne's weekly group training in the park, and the dogs are thrilled each week when they see her again. If you are considering dog trainers in Northern Colorado there are many to choose from and it can be quite difficult to make a choice! Based on reviews and word of mouth we chose Joanne to work with our 3 year old dog, Bronc, to help with his reactivity, self-control, manners around guests, and to help him co-exist with our cat in our house. Our dog entered Joanne’s 2-week Good Dog board and train program and came out of it with improved skills, improved self control, reduced anxiety and reduced reactivity. Joanne’s program has really helped our dog, but also helped us understand how we can better our approach with him and helped us become better leaders for him. Joanne has a very wonderful and kind demeanor while also being confident and approachable while teaching us how to work with our dog. She is a straight shooter in a kind way You can tell Joanne truly cares about the animals she is working with and our dog just adores her. Joanne also cares for us, has great follow- up and does not hesitate to continue to coach us or help out with our guidance of Bronc whenever we are in need. Joanne not only provided training to our dog for two weeks but coached us for several hours upon returning Bronc after his stay and continues to teach him and us at her weekly classes. She also takes videos for reference so we can improve and check that our training is up to good standards for our dog. With no hesitation Joanne will be a good choice for you and your dog. 5 stars from us and 5 woofs from Bronc!

In August, we re-homed a five month old Poodle mix puppy. As senior citizens, my husband and I were unsure we were prepared to take on the responsibility of an energetic puppy, but we fell in love with Murphy when we met him. When we brought him home we were amazed by his behavior! Murphy had spent two weeks in a board and train program with Joanne before he was surrendered by his previous owner. Murphy came to us already able to follow many commands, such as come, sit, stay, down, off, leave it and place. At five months he was already so well leashed trained that it has been a pleasure to take him on walks everywhere. We walk with ease and confidence. Murphy never pulls or reacts to other dogs, people or children. He is amazing thanks to Joanne’s love and training. She sent us videos of the training that she had done with Murphy that were very helpful to us as we adjusted to our new fur baby. We have continued to go to weekly training sessions with Joanne, other dogs and their owners. She is a wealth of knowledge and truly wants the dogs and their families to be successful. Murphy has been a wonderful addition to our family thanks to the training and love he received in Joanne’s care. We are so grateful to her and give her our highest praise and recommendation!
